There are threads I've purposefully avoided over the yrs.

I didn't like looking for political/social wisdom & clarity within a site dedicated to a sporting entity we all know/love. Mostly was afraid of group-think here, when none of us might be able to claim these areas as a realm of expertise. Associated probs like TMI, & a wh*ring media(complicating perspectives), with a liberal axe-to-grind, on the mighty generous take.

Democracy & freedom is all well & good in a thriving, expanding economy. When the SHTF, you might newly discover who's entitled to bend the rules. Or that they've flipped, 180 degrees, to support any narrative. Then Voltaire stated: "To know who rules over you, simply find out who you mustn't criticize."

In the 1990's, I'd already found North American lifestyle too much to quietly tolerate. Had a unique opportunity to work/live abroad. These two + decades have been the best of my life; while realizing I could never go back to the society that I grew up in.

I wonder how many young people in North America today(that is, the 2 main nations) would be open to permanently leaving, if they could?

If we get a Trump clone up here or he decides to follow his hero's playbook and attempt another Anschluss, I'll definitely be leaving.  Very lucky to be born a dual citizen.

What/Who are you talking about?

You’re speaking in nonsensical generalities that haven’t really addressed anything specifically.

Thank you, do appreciate that. Be it a poem, song, CDC comment, or even a tax form, your interpretation is just as meaningful! :^)

good for Seth. Perfect response to that guy. It still amazes me that some people think "black lives matter" is a question.

The military isn't there to shutdown protestors, it's there to stop the idiots from breaking and vandalizing.  Idiots who don't care and are not there for George Floyd or BLM, idiots who are there for their own self interests.

Yeah that's why members of the media are getting thrown to the ground....  Those idiots.

In the end,

we will remember

not the words

of our enemies,

but the silence of our friends.

Martin Luther King Jr.

Fan or not, Justin Trudeau spoke volumes today.
