Of course! Quebec is a sh!t show. As is Ontario (which doesn’t make sense for Toronto to get a hub). This whole thing might be doomed to fail. There will be one idiot like a Virtanen that will leave to bubble to party and come back to infect everyone.

I hope it wasn't because they did what the Blues did and go clubbing or to a bar. training camp is supposed to start like tomorrow and it can take 14-21 days to fully recover from covid. These players might not even be able to play come the play in round. Going out and clubbing now is the dumbest thing a pro athlete can do

That player would be different than Virtanen, who was never in or left a bubble.

There's no bubble until phase 4.  Ever since the season was suspended every player were in phase 1 of the NHL's return to play protocol.  Players were asked to self-isolate until they could open up training facilities for phase 2.   Many players didn't follow the recommended protocol.

From phase 2 protocol:   As such, Players are strongly recommended to continue to exercise “distancing” behavior, practicing the same social/physical distancing measures as observed during Phase 1 of the League’s “pause” in the 2019/20 Season. Specifically:

  • Players and Club personnel shall continue to stay at home as much as possible and practicable and must avoid unnecessary interactions with non-family members.
  • Players shall not physically spend social time together in close contact.
  • As noted above, Players participating in Phase 2 are not permitted to work out or skate at any public facility or other location, except as may be permitted by the Club, and may not organize any Player skates or group skates outside of the small group sessions organized by the Club.

Virtanen left the bubble, the one that hasn’t even started yet? Or are you just an idiot overreacting to Virtanen going out one night? Don’t need to answer, I already know which side of the pendulum you sit on.

Are these new cases or are they part of the group already declared by the League? If it is, then this breaks  confidentiality as they weren't going to single out specific teams.

Basu:  "The National Hockey League declined comment, citing its policy regarding COVID-19 disclosure. The Canadiens also declined to comment."

Training camp starts tomorrow and media can be present - they'll notice if there's anyone unexpectedly missing on the ice.

This return to play is gonna get messy.

Too many players and staff to keep track of. What are the punishments for leaving one of these bubbles?

Teams can be fined and even lose draft picks if protocol is not followed.  The player can be excluded from the bubble.
