Actually don't mind most of this.

I do think Ferland really showed he's truly back and can handle more minutes but I'd like to see him on Petey's wing for, at least, a few shifts to start the game.

Minnesota really played Petey aggressively (which we all knew was coming). Having the presence of Ferland by his side should provide a bit of a deterrent. If not Ferland needs to set a precedence for taking liberties on Petey and may have to take a penalty or two to back it. It is imperative that Vancouver find ways to buy Petey space to work with.

Horvat needs to be unleashed offensively and used much, much less in defensive situations. Sutter does not necessarily have to be moved up but could be used in defensive faceoffs, I like Gaudette's offensive upside more so then Sutter's, so I like Gaud at 3 C better. Using Sutter as a defensive faceoff specialist frees up Bo for full on offense. I thought Motte was really noticeable and proved he could handle defensive assignments so he stays in.

Thought OJ looked pretty good in the warm up game. Why not see what he can do under meaningful circumstances.

At least to start the game:

Ferland               Petey               Boeser

Miller                  Horvat              Toffoli

Pearson             Gaudette          Macewen

Motte                 Beagle              Sutter

Hughes               Myers

Edler                   Stetcher

OJ                       Tanev

Fantenberg

As said above, if this doesn't provide positive results in the form of more chances and goals then it's not difficult to return the lineup to resemble one a little more familiar to us but, TG needs to find a way to spark this team.

I’ve been a Green supporter since day 1.
But if he puts in Rousell over Virtanen again in game 2, I’m jumping the fence and joining the fire Green team.

The kid needs to be in.  His game is built for the playoffs.   Let him loose.

The trouble is Virtanen and Green are having a staring contest and if Green blinks first he looses

We will see, I guess....................

Personally I'd taking Gaudette out as well and inserting MacEwen.  I like the kid but he looked totally outclassed.

I think Sutter is the better option right now. It seemed AG was always hemmed in all night.  Sutter I thought was really good last night. The puck died on Gaudettes stick all night, if he's not creating offence he's a liability.

Beagle and Motte impressed me as well, putting Jake on that line and Sutter on the 3rd is how I hope it plays out.

At the end of the day it’s up to the guys in the room to get pucks deep, go hard to the net and win some hockey games!

Promising stat of the day:

Vancouver is 4-1 in games after they were shutout.

Minnesota is 1-4-1 in games after they shut their opponents out

Sounds like we got them right where we want them. B)

I actually think that's not a bad lineup.

Off topic but Ferland is officially a Nuck. There was an entire thread about the spear that had more posts than the actual GDT at one point. The hate it generated was actually cathartic, I missed the Nucks being hated league wide.

Do you know if we get Crooked Kelly next game?

more important, do we know anyone who can hack into the Edmonton sound system and taunt Crooked Kelly through the PA?

That would be awesome

That would be so fun to watch and get up for. If we roll out the identical line up as last night I might have a hard time watching. Shake it up Greene.

I'd swap Boeser and Virt, but I see what you're going for. Love that lineup

69-0 Wild.

The refs give the Canucks 30 consecutive unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, supposedly because the players gave them funny looks from the bench. All the Canucks skaters are cross-checked from behind whenever they touch the puck, but no penalties are called against the Wild because the refs 'didn't see them'. Ferland has all his sticks stolen by the Wild bench and is ejected from the game for committing the unprecedented act of speaking English to the refs.

Markstrom and Demko abandon the game in protest. Jake Virtanen suits up in goal to replace them. When asked about the decision to put Virtanen in net, Green remarks that he dressed the lineup that gave them the best chance to win.
