You have to think that the injury and what was happening with Duke was a huge distraction and now that he's able to focus more, wow. He's something special. All series, he was a factor. Also really messes with teams when they have all 3 of the Lotto line on the ice....all capable of making plays and scoring. Frees Petey up a lot more. 3

Popular Post You Mad Bro?
Fun fact. The Vancouver Canucks have won as many playoff series in Rogers Place as the Edmonton Oilers. Lolololol 1 10

sockeye
The Canucks looked a little slow out of the gate but showed great resiliency in coming back from deficits. Marky has bailed out the Canucks many times (won games for them) and this time the team rallied around him and bailed him out. Great to see. Good team win and great to see Tanev get the winning goal (he has done so much for this team over the years).

Darius
That was probably the most chippy and physical series of the preliminary round. i think the experience will serve them well. Petey was mugged and abused. He wasn’t intimidated and pushed back. They can use this as more of a springboard than if they played a less physical team like Chicago who like to run and gun and exchange chances. They showed us that they can handle a physical series and I’m sure this will boost their confidence. Moving forward, assuming they get to play Dallas, they will have to deal with more offensive weapons and will have to be more disciplined. I think EP and JT will step it up a notch too. 1

I'm wondering if it's too late to be making fundemental adjustments in playing style. That might need to be in the offseason with his goalie coach. 1

That might need to be in the offseason with his goalie coach. I don’t think it’s a major adjustment. If you go back to the shutout game, Marky was sealing off that near post very well and made some crucial stops with his shoulder when guys were trying to snipe the short side top corner. Personally, I just think it was the back-to-back, coupled with the morning game 3 followed by the late game 4. Probably threw off his focus and preparation, just having to play two games close together and at opposite times of the day. I think any little issues creeping in can be fixed with a little tuneup work between Marky and Ian Clark. This type of stuff has happened through the season, and it seems like whenever Markstrom starts to lose some technique, especially if it’s posture stuff, or net location, he’s able to make the necessary tweaks when he gets a free day or two to work with Clark, and he usually comes back in good form and then goes on another run of strong play. 4

Boudrias
Hughes dominated out there. Makes his team mates better. I admit going in that I wanted Van to play 5 OT games and then draft the #1. Thats gone now and I think they can win another round!
