snucks
Green should have rested Markstrum in game 4. He seems reluctant to put Demko in even when Markstrum is tired or a little off. Its called adapting to game sitautions and its called coaching. But Vigneau wasn't great at adapting to game situations either. 3
Popular Post D.B Cooper
MarkstrUm wasn’t the only issue. Also, a MarkstrUm at 80% is better than a Demko who hasn’t seen a game in months. 2 1 2
Popular Post goalie13
Disagree. Dropping your MVP and undisputed #1 goalie for a guy that has zero NHL playoff experience when the outcome of the game was still not sealed would have been the worst move Green could make. You DO NOT give up on your #1 like that. It's called coaching and Green did it right. 5 1 3 5

Monkeyking
Green not willing to play zack macewen and olli juolevi over Jake Virtanen /oscar fantenberg. Both of them seen out of place and haven't made an impact over the post season .it is time to play our wild card the dark horses 1

Popular Post King Heffy
Playing a cold Demko, who struggled down the stretch, in a must-win game is not a good solution. Markstrom had gotten some extra rest due the game being postponed; Greener made the right call. If Demko had gone in and gotten shelled, Green would be getting crucified on here. We are underdogs in this series for a reason; just because we are losing does not mean Green is a bad coach. He's done a hell of a job making adjustments in the playoffs with an inexperienced group. 3 1 1

snucks
It might be that Green is afraid to ruffle Markstrums feathers so to speak. Canucks did that with Luongo too. The coach is the decider and has to know what he is doing and when his goalie is off his game. There was one game a little while back where Green actually did put Demko in the 3rd period. no goals were scored on him. If a backup isn't good enough to use at times then that goalie shouldn't be on the team. Demko is quite capeable and sometimes you have to rest your No1. Vegas rested their goalie nut not the Canucks.

This is what happens most of the time, but it's not absolute. Phil_314
Title should be "Green is smart not to use the backup goalie". Who in their right mind would not start a red-hot, All-Star goalie who's made the most saves this post-season and is essentially the duct tape holding an at occasionally leaking defense together? It's exactly in the playoffs that any team or athlete puts their best guys forward. We also don't have the luxury of a champion like Marc Andre Fleury as our backup to spot Lehner for a night. Lastly, surprised you see that any of those last 3 goals were his fault (tipped off Motte's stick, hit Pacioretty's skate in a fluke play and close-in jam play due to Myers' missed assignment). Even the first two couldn't entirely be faulted against him if you choose to do so (missed block by Motte which goes five hole as Markstrom saw it last minute, and odd man rush where Stephenson roofs it off a perfect pass past a lunging Markstrom). 1
Scorevat
Thank god you aren't on our coaching staff lol, you put in the guy that gives you the best chance to give you the win. We don't have the luxury that vegas has in having a 1A and 1B goalie tandem. Demko will be good but his time has yet to come.

Nuxfanabroad
Not hindsighting at all. A thread was made last wknd(before game 3)..day of the protest-kerfuffle Canucks Lined Up for 5 games in 7 nights..etc... ^^^^THIS is the thread. Check it out. I said use the backup & use depth. Many disagreed. I'm sorry..but WE(Canucks) F***ed it up royally!
Hairy Kneel
Markstroms old habit of letting one soft one in has seemed to have crept back in. That long slapper the last game. It would have been good if he could have found TD some more ice time.

Drakrami
you could say that, but hes also letting 20 years old Hughes log 22 minutes a game. For 10 years, all the coaches went with was Edler for all situations.
