(Proposal) Big moves to come!

Why would you say that?

It actually really makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Buffalo is in need of a sniper to play with Eichel, a younger, bigger and cheaper guy than Skinner.

This could give both teams a tremendous boost.

Probably push Buffalo into a playoff spot next season.

Yes Buffalo might make the playoffs but it wouldn't do a thing for the Canucks.

Yes it would.

Dahlin is a STUD dman, while different than Hughes he is more complete and being from Sweden he might sign for a little less to stick with fellow superstar Pettersson.

He allows the Canucks to get salary and cap hit control.

Mostly because Boeser's next contract guarantee's a raise to over 8 million. If he gets that then what would Horvat or Miller want?

The team can't have that many players over 8 mil in a flat cap salary restricted budget.

The first and maybe a second pick gives a still rebuilding Canucks contract control of one or possibly two players, one of which could step in immediately, for the next 6 years allowing for a 8+ mil bridge deal with Pettersson

This also allows the Canucks a added protection spot in expansion, this player could also be a player that steps into the lineup at a reasonable cap hit and takes and upgrades one of the bottom six spots.

A plan with Dahlin could get the Canuck defence much bigger as well, as can seen over the last 6 cups, large defenseman, even bottom pairings are controlling much of the play just with the wing spans and that they win more board battles then losing them.

Remember how the media and fans were clamoring to get Myers back into the lineup to help handle the aggressive checking from Vegas

Cap and salary control, a stud defenseman, extra protection spot and extra picks and increase of size of back end players, closer to playoff size. It might be worth it to include a 2022 1rst pick because IF the plan works that will be a late 20's selection. This will be important because a team like Arizona will be wanting an Eriksson and Sutter contracts with a little retention to get to the cap floor. Maybe even a 1rst or 2nd pick which could be very high, maybe even a lottery selection
