#11499017 Police shoot and kill dog after arresting owner (Warning:graphic)

Posted by M. Grabner on 02 July 2013 - 09:51 PM

1) Filming/Taking a picture of the scene is not illegal. There was no reason for an arrest to take place to begin with. Had there no been abuse of power by the officer, this entire should situation would have been avoided.
2) An officer's first call of duty is to maintain peace and diffuse situations to avoid situations such as these. I failed to see any sort of attempt to diffuse this situation, only power and ego tripping.
3) Shooting their handgun is supposed to be their last resort, not first resort. Pepper spray or a tazer should have been their first resort.

All in all, this is nothing more than a brutal realization for Hawthorne PD to realize they need to step up their training. However, it seems they refuse to acknowledge they did anything wrong as they are stating they were trying to protect the owner as he was "defenseless" to his own dog because he was handcuffed. Unnecessarily handcuffed by the police over something that simply wasn't even illegal.

That being said, I'm a dog owner and am biased at this point.

#11041508 Smokers..

Posted by M. Grabner on 05 January 2013 - 08:40 AM

Former smoker as well and this is pretty stupid. Those who haven't had cigarette after a stressful day at work and experience that glorious headrush won't understand the feeling. Those who do smoke don't realize/care what they're doing to their health, and in some cases, to other people's health as well when they have that urge for a cigarette. Honestly, when that craving comes, it just overwhelms you.. No matter how broke you are, $10 for a pack suddenly becomes nothing and you'll just get consumed by it.

After smoking 3 a day for the past 3 years, I've quit cold turkey. Albeit it has only been 3 months, my cravings are virtually non-existent and smoker's hack is gone. The headrush was nice but how I feel now is just so much better. I'm almost certain there are people that are going to say "It's only been 3 months, give it another 3 months, he'll be smoking again" but whatever, haters gon' hate.

Okay, I got this idea from a different board I'm a part of. Basically you ban the person who posted above you for any random reason. It can be anything but nothing too offensive obviously. Let's see how it works in this forum... You never know on CDC :P

http://www.goaliesto...-above-you.html

Here's the thread from my other board so you guys get what I mean.

Eg) If someone sees my name... Banned for thinking I'm Grabner... anything stupid like that.
