  1. I know my life has gotten to "pathetic" stage when I looked out the window today and my first thought honestly was, "Wow. I'll bet the OMG Windy? thread is up and going."
  2. After all these years, I love listening to my UNREAL playlist, whilst playing Unreal Tournament GOTYE. Currently, it's "Ringfinger" by NIN.
  3. I was just going to say how much I love rain - sooo cozy, especially the sound. But, then I saw your pictures, VC and I don't think many people would agree with my sentiment!
  4. OH, yeah.... forgot about that. But, then quite a bit has changed from the books (I just thought I was mis-remembering a lot, as it's been a while since I've read the first books).
  5. I hope not! Have to wait because my guy is still reading the 3rd book and it's soooo much better read than watched, I always feel (although sneaking a peek may just be in order!)
  6. Don't know how to do spoiler option, so just in case: SPOILER!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen the episode yet, but I was on a plane when reading the chapter. Obviously, I couldn't do a very verbal outburst at the time, but I remember wanting to chuck the book. I simply looked helplessly at my questioning hubby and kept reading, only to become more and more overwhelmed. SOOOOOOOO amazingly written. REALLY glad I read it before watching it - George RR Martin's account could NEVER be as dramatically captured on the screen as in writing. Arya riding up to the gates - not very often I had such a feeling of utter despair when reading a book. Brilliant.
  7. I have to agree, after waiting so long, that was a disappointing episode. I feel like they have a checklist as to what has to be mentioned/covered and are just going through that list, ticking it off. I was way more enthralled reading it - so much more emotion. I know that there is a lot of ground to cover, but it's the journey that's more important, IMO.
  8. Totally agree. I love Davos in the books and at least the actor is portraying him as I pictured, but there is just something missing in the feel of the character in the show - can't put my finger on it. Maybe in time....
  9. I'll keep at it - sure haven't been disappointed with the previous books! Wow - with watching the trailers, I am now a bit sad that I've read ahead so far, though. But, this season will be intense. Can't wait to see how they will portray particular events.
  10. Does book 5 pick up at all??? I hate to admit it, but 300 pages in and it's the first book of the series that I don't find myself aching to read. I'd heard that 4 was boring, but I loved it, so maybe there's hope? LOL
