It would be a toss up between Ohlund and Reinhart for me. Jovo also had another nickname “Special Ed”. it’s sad that we never got to see what Bourdon would have become. He would have been in his prime during our cup run. The kid had an adult body at his draft. Big player with great wheels and a cannon for a shot.

If you read his other posts, they are almost always negative even if the team does something right. Kind of makes me wonder if he is a closet leafs fan.

Garland isn’t garbage. He’s just a bit difficult to afford at 4.9 million especially given the flat cap. The OEL buyout gives us the flexibility to retain some salary and trade Garland to get a decent pick or prospect back. Garland has three years cost controlled for a team that has trouble signing FA’s i.e. Winnipeg, Columbus, Buffalo etc. can be inserted in a top 6 role and put up 50 points.

This D core before Hronek had one, count them, one legitimate top 4 defensemen. All our other D's were nothing more than bottom pairing D's on a playoff bound team. Even if you hit on a top 4 RHD with the NYI pick in the draft, it would still take 3 or 4 years for that pick to contribute. And that still gives you just 2. We still need to do some work on the D. The move was made because of how crappy our D core was.

People cheered for the team to win because they had no control over any of the roster moves that we would have to make to tank. We are fans after all. No s#4t Sherlock. 10 is better than 11, 9 is better than 11, 8 is better than 11. Because as fans some of us here accepted the fact that we are not as bad as many of the teams below us. Does it bother you that much that we actually wanted to see the team do well? Or that the new coaching staff with a new system actually showed improvement over what we had before?

Why would it be a low blow for us to ask for a hometown discount? RNH was actually a good comparison at the time. Now I think RNH is better. whether you feel his comments were directed at mgmt or fans doesn’t really matter. No need to mention “Vancouver” at all in a negative sense. I personally was not offended and really could care less but I can understand why fans would not take his comments too well, especially those that spent their hard earn money on tickets and his jerseys. He had his fat contract, was going to play in the playoffs no need to for those comments. you honestly think Lou wanted to give him that contract? Bo had them by the balls. They gave up a lot to get him. More than what most pending UFA’s would cost. Good for Bo. His agent squeezed as much as he could out of them.

I think some people here were expecting things to either be turned around right away or blown up completely. This mgmt team has only been here a little over a year. They were left with 2 anchor contracts on D. No other solid D prospects and with only 1 top 4 in Hughes. But they did inherit Miller, Petey and Demko. Add Hughes and you have a good solid core to work with. So they went the retool route which for me was hard to fault them for. They were also left with a coach they didn't want. A country club culture with little accountability. They still have some work to do to acquire the other pieces to go with the core. I am more optimistic about this mgmt team than the last one but how the team performs at the beginning of next season is critical to gaining this fan base's trust again.

Actually, we were down 3-1 in the series until Bubble Demko came in and only allowed 2 goals in 3 games while facing 43,45,and 34 shots. Game 7 we lost 3-0 but 2 of the goals were EN. We were overmatched and the only reason why it went to 7 games was because of Demko.

I actually wouldn't be too concerned with those two if the rest of our lineup were bigger. i.e. both Petey and Huggy, 2 important pieces of our main core are light. We need to get bigger elsewhere if we are going to compete.

Just watching these playoffs, I'm seeing that guys like AB and Garland are absolutely going to get slaughtered out there. I think we need to move both of them. Hogs and Pods play a more heavy game and should fill in. Mik has size too. PDG while not big should stay if only that he offers good value for his league minimum salary and seems to be able to play serviceable top 6 minutes. As for Boeser, he certainly has the bulk but needs to get quicker. Comparing his first two seasons here, he seems to have lost a step. While he was never quick, it never seemed to be as much of a problem as it is now. Whether its injuries or fitness, who knows but I think there is room for improvement there. I like Joshua and Aman on our 4th line. Myers, while big, does not always play big so he should be gone. While I'd like to get Gavrikov, he plays the left side so unless we shed OEL, its not likely we get him. So many question marks still:
