  1. Child 44 3/10 --- And the 3 is because I have a huge man crush on Tom Hardy... The movie is an adaption of a novel, but it cant decide if it wants to be a child serial killer murder mystery or a film that deals with the injustices of the MGB (bascially the Soviet Gestapo) and the Stalin regime, and so instead treads right in the middle of both. Its all over the place... and the resolution to both plotlines is as pointless as the build to get there. I couldnt understand how a movie with Oldman, Hardy and Rapace, that took place is a post WW2 USSR had such poor reviews, now I know. If you read the book, by all means, check it out. Otherwise skip it, or watch a better lesser-known Hardy film like Bronson, or Rock-N-Rolla
  2. Ted 2 6/10 Not as funny as the first, and as with all Seth Macfarlane comedy, there are a ton of misses for every joke that hits... But the ones that hit, hit hard for some great belly laughs. Liam Neeson's cameo was the best part of the movie.
  3. LOL!! I am all for CC bashing but seriously... that one was a stretch. I know she isn't a great premier, but I bet she's a worse firefighter. Lets leave that to the people who know what they're doing.
  4. Again, this make no sense... And for the record.... The last sentence is completely different... so how is this a direct quote again? lol Btw, clearly you missed my original joke, mocking the grammar and spelling in the other guys "quote" ... And not claiming that the quote wasn't from the movie...
  5. How can something be almost a direct quote... it either is, or isn't.
  6. The whole movie would have been completely different if not for that. That was kind the underlying theme of the movie and it worked very well. People think all movies need to be straight forward action without the need for tension and build up. I really like that movie as well. Tom Hardy nailed it. --- as usual.
  7. I have a hard time believing that was a direct quote... Unless dyslexia is a big issue in the future.
  8. Books have now gone completely one out the window.... and I dont care! That was the most epic 15 min of TV in a long time. The SFX were movie quality, and the white taunting Snow at the end was great.
  9. I also watched It Follows recently; Directly after the viewing, I would have said 5/10, but after having a few days to think about it, Ill give it a 8/10. It was a rare horror movie that had me thinking about it days after watching it. Its more disturbing after the credits roll than while watching it. Great pacing, and it relied on atmosphere and tension over gore and jump scares. I have not had "nightmares" from movies since i was a child, but this movie gave me unsettling dreams. It definitely wont be everyone's cup of tea, and some will get turned off by the music and the setting, but if you stick through it, its worth it.
  10. Had not gone to theaters in 4-5 months... prior to may, Went each of the last 4 weeks, brief reviews of each: Furious 7 : 7/10 -- Better than 6, but 5 remains the pinnacle for the current cast. The Paul Walker tribute at the end brought some tears from people in my showing, Ill admit... It was pretty emotional. Avengers 2 : 6/10 -- Good summer popcorn flick, but to be honest, im getting bored of the MCU movies... This one added nothing that the first didnt have, the final battle was copy/paste from Avengers 1, the enemies just had a different skin. Mad Max : 10/10 -- I rarely give 10's, but this movie was all kinds of awesome. Amazing, it is everything that Avengers was not. Where avengers was action start to finish that relied heavily on CGI, Mad Max was action start to finish relying on practical effects and breathtaking stunts. It was so refreshing to see a movie made this way. Tom Hardy, as always, stole the show even by barely speaking. Poltergeist 1/10 -- saw for free and still felt ripped off. Avoid like the plague. Movie had 1-2 jump scares and ZERO atmosphere. Saw with the wife who is a hide-under-her-hoodie out of fear in all horror movies was not scared in the least and laughed along with me at this train wreck. Sam Rockwell is one of the most underrated actors in our generation, but he phoned this one in and was unwatchable...HORRIBLE. Only reason it gets the 1 and not the 0 was the little girl was decent.
  11. Ya, from my research this last month thats what I have concluded as well. Sucks though right now, I went from 195 down to 187 in 4 weeks. I wanted to cut around now anyways, but cutting lifting out completely has caused significant mass decreases... Im really hoping I can just pump it back...
  12. GOING CRAZY!!! Broke my wrist 4 weeks ago, and have been relegated to legs/abs and a ton of cardio. My gains in my arm/chest/shoulders slowly degrading and there is nothing I can do.... To make it worse, my stag is in vegas 4 weeks after I get the cast off.... Positive is I look way leaner, on account of the cardio... Negative is my arms are shrinking!
  13. Spader rocked it... Ultron stole the show with what he said, but physically... Especially in his "final" form, it left something to be desired... especially considering the source material, where he dominated the avengers and killed some of them... Nice homage to that with Starks vision however.
  14. CIvil war is quickly becoming Avengers 3...which isnt a bad thing, I was simultaneously disappointing and happy with AOU... Ultron was a bit of a pansy... but otherwise it was decent.
