  1. lets hope not. Torts was the biggest reason for the Canucks failure. He skated a tean with plenty of talent and obviously didn't kniow how to use it. His system if you can call it that was a joke. Folks talk about how well we were doing in december. You need to go back and watch the video if you think Torts had it under control way back when -- December. There was a reason he was fired by the Rangers -- same reson here he needs to go. Hopefully new GM cleans house.
  2. Yes Torts was a monumental mistake. Chases Hartley onto the locker room. Gillis announces that the Canucks fuly suppot him. Torts goes on. True the players play the game. The coaches lead and inspire. Why did Russel Wilson out perfor Peyton Manning. Because Pete Caroll knows how to lead. Torts coaching staff is a joke, Chalk board at a morning sakate before a game. The folks who suppot Torts should listen to Glan Sather's interview at the GM meeting. Why not benefit from trhe Rangers' experience.
  3. The coaching staff needs to go. This so called "structured system" is akin to "The Emperor Has No Clothes." Your post is a bigger embarassment than Tortarella chasing Hartley into the locker room. Fire Torts tomorrow. Listen to Glen Sather's interview at the GM meeting. Tell me he doesn't have a read on Torts. Why wait?
  4. Fine with me. Torts goes first. Only problen is who will hire new coach. Can't be the same guys who hired Torts. I can imagine the job interview. Torts what's your plan for the team? I think we need to block shots, get tough lose games and fight the opposing coach. We may not winning many games but we're going to be tough. Should have ended interview right there. Do we get Torts II? $130 tickets selling at $65 on resale. Scalpers go broke. Empty seats at Rogers Arena. Caucks claim to be sold out Agter 3 seasons of trash. New GM comes in admits there are no sell outs any longer vows to change culture rebuild team. Lowers prices. What a bore. Why not reshape management now. If Acquilinis want Torts and Gillis then look for a resale of Canucks in 4 or 5 years. I dont care how much money. no one carries the loss that long.
  5. You need to get real. This "LOL" garabge is no substitute for common sense. The team has been in a free fall since October. It just picked up acceleration as time went on. LOL while while Rome burns. Great solution.

    Heritage "Classless"

Good bye Torts. What a stupid classless decision. One for which he should be fired. Now
  7. Its really hard to think about grocery shopping when there is no chef in the kitchen. There's not even a line cook. How are you going to assemble the ingredients and get them on the plate?
  8. The first change is to fire Torts. Why wait to end of season? Do it now and cut losses.Torts is a guy whose day is done. Why would anyone risk a cent on this guy's decisions. Starts the season with the "blocked shot" mantra -- that really helped We lost Burr. Announces that we may not win many games but we'll be tough to play against. (He was 1/2 right) Blames AV for the lack of penalty calls in favor of Canucks -- claims officials don't make calls because AV told playrers to dive. Meanwhile fans boo Torts on his return to New York. Canucks lose to Rangers after Torts brags he want to Kick a## in NY and get out of town. Concocts bizzare lines for quarter season losing many games which easilty could have been won. Destroys player moral meanwhile fails to accept responsibility. States -- the coaches haven't done enough to teach the team positional play. This from a guy who in a matter of weeeks destoyed one of the best puck possession teams in modern hockey. Chases a compeitior's coach into the locker room looking for a fight. Claims it was the other guys fault. As far as I can see Torts has no "system" other than his system of excuses at post game interviews. I note interviews are no longer posted on Canucks site. Gillis obviously made a mess of Schneider "trade." And hiring Torts was a mind numbing colossal blunder. Gillis has had his shot. But that is not the source of the current disarray. From day one Torts ghas been the wrong guy for this team. For example -- Kess on the wing -- only to be returned to center (Of course Torts does not admitt mistake - says Kess far better winger than he thinks.) Split Sedins only to put them back together Torts says Sedins need to be tougher. He looses Henrik Sedin to injury ( Torts criticized in New York for a "system": that caused excessive injuries and demoralized star players.) Does Vancouver really have to learn this lesson over again - can't we benefit from the Rangers experience? There will ne no banners raised in Rogers Arena during the Torts era.
  9. Tha's because we have the same director and producer. Not the actors. Bad director terrible movie. It ony gets worse from here. Ask in New York,
  10. That was for the brilliant job he did on the Goalie situation. What did we get for our "starter"? Good job.
  11. On Point. We need to start thinking from top down to correct this problem. Too many fans willing to give Gillis and Torts a pass. There will be no banners raise at Rogers Arena during the Torts era (which hopefully ends before the Olympics)
  12. 'Need a change to the complexion of this team" We may not win many games but we will be tought to play against Be a long night in Boston How can a coach seriously make such dumb comment and expext a win. Cange nned to satrt at the top I really hope for a Canucks win but if it comes it won;t be from the game plan -- assuming there is one
  13. Torts is back can someone please ask the question. Lead in "We may not win many games but we will be tough to play against" Question "You are kidding, eh?" This debacle is totally on the management. Torts needs to call Pete Caroll. Lead in "Pete I need help." Qurstion "What can I do to get as much from my players as you do from yours?: Answer "Positive feed back and get a system -- good defense, puck control and time management. You got close once you just gave up too soon" Got a Cup in the North West. You guys who keep on with the Torts nonsense. Look South.
  14. I seem to remeber Torts prediction at his first press conference. Goes something like -- We may not win many games but we are going to be tough to play against. Well Torts got it right on the first part - way off the mark on the second part. Think the Oilers thought we were tough to play against last night How about the Ducks Kings Sharks etc etc. Last night Mike Sullivan said team needed to play harder -- that was the solution. Wow. insightful, incisive and inspired. The Canucks were built as a skilled puck possession team. (Which is still the most exciting hockey to watch and the most successful) If the owners are not going to staff the management and coaches to play this style there will be no hope of winning for the foreseeable future. No banners will be raised at Rogers Arena during the Torts era. Great disservice to to the Sedins ( hall of fame quality guys) who just signed long term deals, Terrible for Luongo. I am sure he was promised a much bettter situation by Mr Acquillini the day of the Schneider "trade" (if you can call it a trade without a lauighing). This experiment has been a disaster. Can the Acquillinis actually allow Gilis to make trades at this point. I doubt he will be back next season. Hopefully new GM fires coaches and we write this debacle off as a desparate move to fix a problem that did not need fixing. Canucks had chance to be an organization that would rival the Wings. Too bad management opted for the Torts approach. it will be a long boring wait unless their is immeadiate recognition that this was a terrible move. Not too late -- still have the core players. Just dont have the staff or the system to excel. In oher words don't we need to try "harder" -- banging thier heads againt the door. Use a little finesse -- turn the door knob. Don't need some guy hammering on an anvil for game time video -- or chasing the opposing coach into the locker room for period break entertainment.. It is true -- things are not adding up.
  15. Yes --- Gilliis needs to go. Torts needs to go. Torts is an extension of the Gillis vision.. When Torts returned to NY the fans booed. When AV returned to Vancouver fans chereed. AV produced great hockey, Torts stiffled his talent and his sytem (if thats what you can call it) produced many injuries. It is repeating here in Vancouver. Cut our losses now. Gilliis has created a muddle. He inheirted a great organization, He has done nothing with it. Has he drafted a single starter? He made a terrible mess of the goaile siituation. He hired a coach who would not otherwise be employed. The wrong person for the job Did anyone watch the post game interviews tonight, Pathetic --" We need to be harder on the puck" -- what kind of cliche hockey drivel is this? Sounds like a bantam coach. The coaches need to coach to the skills of thier players. Torts was fired from NY becasue he could not and he can't do it here either. Enough! I do not know how many coaches and GMs have been fired mid season. The Aquilini family needs to define its brand. If they want to become a meiocre brand -- an LA wanta be, I'm opiing out. (Once everyone tries to mimick a product, the product is obsolete). Please lets stop the loyalty stuff for an incompetent management.. We buy the tickets. We support the venture. I am one unhappy customer.
