Little (true) story for you: My mom had cancer for 10 years and was immunocomprised as a result. Three times she ended up with pneumonia -- twice starting with a common cold and once with the flu -- and almost died each time. This sort of scenario plays out millions of times a year in the Lower Mainland, throughout BC, Canada and the world. Who gave her the cold or flu? Who knows. But someone almost killed her indirectly and without intention. Of course, many die under similar circumstances. So, pre-Covid, were you always so careful about not harming others? Did you always care so much? Did you stay indoors and/or where a mask when you had a cold or the flu? Did you get your flu shots religiously and act militantly toward others who didn't? Colds and flu are also deadly - it's just a matter of degree. In the same vein, do you care about the child slaves who mine rare earth metals in the Congo, constantly under the threat of death, so you can enjoy the beautiful visual effects on the smartphone you're probably holding in your hand right now? Doubt it. Do you care about the children and prisoners in China who make the cheap clothes you wear on your back, or the surgical masks you wear when you are in public, because you care so much? The list goes on and on. Truth is, all of us in wealthy countries have indirectly been harming and killing others all our lives. But maybe it only matters to you when it comes to fellow Canadians? Anyway, don't bother coming back with an angry retort. We all know that people like you, King Heffy and Alflives lie to yourselves endlessly because you can't handle the cognitive dissonance in your life. You'd prefer to boil life down to simple 'truths' that don't fit the complexity of reality.
