So, this is a lot of exactly what the team does not need. And if Tortorella becomes the coach, he has to realize it.
First of all, there is no country club mentality. It's not a country club mentality when your playing constantly hurt.

I attribute this to the coach. Wanna see more injuries? Have Daniel and Henrik blocking shots on a PK. The idea is stupid. They are not the problem, and have never been. I ranted about that on other threads. What we need is a good 3rd and 4th line that can kill penalties. BTW, not all 1st line players kill penalties. I am not going to go through 30 rosters, but anyone who watches hockey understands this. Their point production in the playoffs was not the problem. Lack of secondary scoring was.
I do agree with Torts and the media. I would have liked to see a little push back. Truth is, not of the mouthy kind, but rather "if you don't stop asking stupid questions, I'll stop doing interviews". The mouthy kind is entertaining, and it soothes the wounded ego and temper, but it doesn't stop the stupid questions. End the interviews. Kick the media out of the room. A little more Zetterburg and McGuire would stop the idiocy. These guys love Tortorella. He is not going to have them shaking in their boots, he is going to have them lined up for more. Reporters could care less what you think of them, it's a little like telling a used car saleman he is sleazy. He knows he is sleazy, but as long as you buy a car, he doesn't give a rip what you think of him.
You go on to say if players don't like Tortorellas actions they can be shipped out. What you meant to say is if they don't agree with your actions. Let's face it, none of us agree with every decision any coach makes, and if you piss and moan about AV, your gonna piss and moan about JT. Or Stevens, or Ruff, or Boucher, or Martin or whoever. True dat.
What makes anyone think we need more yelling? We had Crawford, how come it didn't work for him? We had Iron Mike Keenan before hime, and it didn't work. Truth is, when we got rid of the pompous, yelling, tightfisted leaders we had for almost 20 years, we made it to game 7. We were there in 82 with Renney, again in 94 with Quinn, and then after 20 years of screaming coaches, again in 2011 with Vigneault. So what on earth makes anyone think we need to set the team back 20 years in coaching? I am not saying Tortorella is the wrong guy, I am responding to the post.
Now, let's be fair. No General enters the true battlefield. And no General tells each man what his individual duty is. Yet, coaches including AV draw up set plays that include EXACTLY where you stand, which direction you face, which way to go based on which way your assigned man goes, which way your skates point, which way your stick points, and what to do if things do not go according to plan. What did you think he meant by the word "system" or "process" every time he was interviewed? So your illustration is dramatic, but incorrect.
I see it is your first post, so I am not trying to be too hard on you, but I have seen a lot of these posts lately. Maybe Torts is the right guy, but lets not get the idea that simply yelling at experienced players is going to win a cup.
