Dog owner amazed after Black Lab saves his dog from drowning
Vancouver resident Joe Markovitch saw something that amazed him on Thursday afternoon. He had taken his dog Bagels to Kits beach for a swim. “He loves swimming and he loves catching the stick, the ball,” said Markovitch.
The 12-year-old Border Collie picked up a stick, which was about five feet long, and went into the water with it. That was not unusual, but this time the stick was just a little too big.
“Because he grabbed it at one end, the current wouldn’t allow him to turn,” said Markovitch, “so he just kept swimming out to sea.”
That is when Markovitch started to get nervous because Bagels wouldn’t let go of the stick and kept swimming – the current pulling him farther and farther out.
Markovitch then jumped into the water to swim after his dog, and he felt something bump his shoulder.
“There’s a Black Lab passing me on his way to Bagels,” he said.
The Lab swam out to Bagels, grabbed the other end of the stick, turned Bagels around and helped him swim to shore.
“They literally walked out of the water with the stick in their mouths,” said Markovitch.
A lot of people on the beach were watching, but unfortunately no one caught the incident on video.
“I haven’t seen anything like it before,” said Markovitch. “This other dog maybe even saved Bagels’ life.”

Were u there for the riots? Not a single die hard canucks fan rioted. It was all teenage hicks who put on canucks jerseys n jumped on the bandwagon.
The real fans were too upset to riot. Shame on the vpd for not being prepared.
aha, what a load of nonsense. No diehard canucks fans rioted? You don't think a few diehard canucks fans could have been so upset that they wanted to get rid of that sad feeling and it transformed into anger and they wanted to riot? I didn't know diehard canucks fans were all perfect and didn't riot.
Oh ok haha. I agree, he has been one of the best and most consistent goalies in the NHL for the past 10 years, but it's difficult to judge who is actually the best, considering so much depends on the team in front of him. There's also something to be said about goalies with great averages, but can't seem to be clutch at the moments when it most matters.
See that's what I think separated lui fans and Luis haters or dislikers oor w.e u want to label them as
The fact that they don't think he's clutch and mainly don't credit him for taking us to the scf. I really don't want to have the scf argument as no one will change their opinion.
But imo luongo is as clutch as it gets. No goalie... not roy... not brodeur wins all the important games. But luongo is able to win a good percentage of those games.
Regular season and playoffs... if its a must win game he shows up.
I remember in 2012 battle for first in the west middle of the season it was nux vs blues and luongo just played absolutely god like and after that game we never looked back and he led us to the presidents trophy. Hes the best bet imo for an important must won game. I can name many examples...
But obviously he doesn't win 100% of must win games... no elite goalie does.
