I personally would like Jake to play only 10 more games total for the rest of this season and then get sent back to the Calgary Hitmen, then Utica for post season. This would be the same situation as what happen with Leon Draisaitl. They sent him back to Kelwona to help improve his game and save a year of free agency. Otherwise he an McCann both become free agents at the same time. If our chances of being top 3 in the Pacific are slim to none then we need to think of the future. The last thing our team needs is to make a Wild card spot and get crushed in the first round, and then get nothing better than a 15th draft pick. I would prefer to be competitive to the end but miss the playoffs and have a top 7 draft position for this year. Just my 2 cents from a 12 year season ticket holder.
