Booth on the fourth line eh.......so if you were the coach you would piss cap space away for 4-6 minutes per game.?
Put those names in the blender again budz.
Who cares about cap hit at this point. Booth couldn't be bought out, can't be traded for anything as useful, and won't be waived. He is a Canuck this year, who cares what line he plays on as long as he and the team do well

Great. Let's teach the players of tomorrow how to choke.
What the heck does that mean. Are you referring to hammers give away against l.a...if so grow up and get over it. Mistakes happen. Those two are great Canucks and they both seem like great ppl. Love that they are Canucks.
It isn't about letting the hoff walk...it's about a salary cap and staying competitive in that structure. He wanted a ton o money and signing him to it might have meant losing Edler or burrows, or maybe some of depth the team has. Maybe unloading Ballard and finding a way to keep him would have been better but it certainly wasn't a horrible decision.
for all the ppl saying this is a risk have a look at this summary from canucks army
"We're big Jason Garrison fans around here, and while his goal totals from last season are a percentage driven mirage, if you're going to "buy high" on a player: Garrison is the right guy to do it with. Yes his offensive output is unsustainable, but he's posted excellent underlying numbers for two years in a row. Beyond that he's exceedingly versatile, something Vancouver has lacked on their blueline over the past two seasons. In 2010/11 Garrison played on Mike Weaver's left side, and the twosome were one of the leagues single best shutdown defensive pairings. In 2011/12 he played a more offensive role on Brian Campbell's right side. Garrison is not a 5 million dollar defenseman, but if the Canucks paid him that much and shipped Keith Ballard out - that would be a big net win for the team."
Just b/c they didn't win the cup this year doesn't mean the team needs to be reshuffled. So many things, including luck, have to fall into place for a team to win. Just b/b Philly or Boston or whoever didn't win this year doesn't mean they need to be reshuffled. After Canucks lost and Philly was looking hot so many said we should go the same route and trade some of our star guys...but they are golfing now too. If quick wasn't playing lights out or Danny wasn't injured maybe we would have tore it up too...who knows. Tweaks and some changes are always need to improve...but a whole team switch. Manny is important to this team and will be back. We need a partner for Eddie and maybe some size (MG did get some last off season but they all got hurt). The Canucks are a helluva team with good ppl and maybe next year the little things will line up.
Has anyone else noticed how having a kid changes these guys. Kesler has a kid and ripped it up last year. Burrows has one and scores in Chicago and plays great in the playoffs. Raymond just had a kid and is having a great playoffs. We need to find Edler a woman.
