  1. Game 1 of the OHL Eastern Conference Final (Belleville Bulls vs Barrie Colts) will be aired on Sportsnet 1 today at 4 so we'll be able to watch Gaunce play.
  2. Game 4 against Sudbury goes today folks. Let's hope Gaunce and the Bulls complete the sweep!
  3. The Bulls defeated the Wolves 4-1 in Game 2 and now lead the series 2-0. Gaunce finished with the lone powerplay assist, 2 PIMS and a -1 rating.
  4. Looks like another solid game for Gaunce in his quest for a Memorial Cup. Can't wait for the opportunity to actually watch him play.
  5. Stage 1 of the Memorial Cup run complete!
  6. I definitely see your point, but maybe we should take the word of the guy who actually watches these games in person. He's not slamming Gaunce or anything. He's just reporting on what he's seeing. That being said, I hope Gaunce becomes a factor in turning his team around. Would not be good at all if the Bulls end up losing this series after leading 2 games to 0.
  7. Today. Gaunce has assisted on Belleville's only goal in a 1-1 tie with Mississauga. 13:25 left in the 2nd.
  8. Don't think that poster was serious. At least I hope he/she wasn't serious...
  9. Fair, and I'm not necessarily guaranteeing Gaunce will be a top 6 centre either. I'm just simply saying I'm hopeful of that and I believe he can do better than what scouts are projecting for him. After all, there are a ton of examples of players in the NHL who have overcome the odds and become better than anyone thought they would be. Doesn't hurt to be hopeful. If he does max out as a 3rd line checking centre, hey, that's fine too. Heaven knows we could use that exact piece on the team right now.
  10. You must have mis-read my post. There are some people I've heard complain that he finished at only a point per game and that doesn't bode well for his numbers at the NHL level I'm saying that I don't put much stock into that, I think he can still be a top 6 offensive contributor on the NHL, regardless of the fact he didn't rip up the OHL. Really don't know how you read my post and got out of it that I'm not excited. Couldn't be further from the truth. I have watched the only game I could watch and that was when Sportsnet broadcast Belleville vs Niagra a little while ago.
  11. Solid season for Gaunce. I refuse to put much stock into the fact he finished with just a point per game. There are several examples of junior players who tear up their league and go on to do absolutely nothing at the NHL level. His team was also one of the lowest scoring in the OHL before they made the deadline deals and then he started to ramp it up along with the rest of the team and the new acquisitions. I still believe if developed properly he can be a top 6 offensive contributor on top of being a for sure impact defensive player.
  12. Gaunce scored a goal and finished with a +2 rating for Belleville in a 5-2 win over the Sudbury Wolves today.
  13. Maine lost a heartbreaker in Game 2, 2-1 in OT. Hutton went scoreless and finished with 1 shot on goal and an even rating in the loss. Maine's season is now over. Due to NCAA rules, Hutton cannot join the Wolves or anything like that. He'll just have to gear up this summer for his sophomore season with Maine starting next fall. It's been a fantastic freshman year for Hutton, one he can be proud of.
  14. Gaunce finished with one powerplay goal, 2 PIMS and an even rating for Belleville today in a 3-0 win over the Mississauga Steelheads.
  15. Gaunce has scored on the powerplay - his 32nd goal of the year - for Belleville to give them a 2-0 lead over Mississauga midway through the 2nd period.
