No problems with the lines

After blowing a 2-0 lead against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 2, many Canucks fans are calling for the lines to be changed up, Michael Grabner be inserted into the top-six, or Pavol Demitra to be scratched. I beg to differ, I have full confidence in the first, second, and third Canucks lines. The Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, and Alex Burrows line's track record since January 2009 speaks for itself. The Pavol Demitra, Ryan Kesler, and Mikael Samuelsson line has potential to succeed. You hav

Reaching the End of the Line for Michael Grabner

After a strong nine game performance in November before injuring his ankle in a pre-game soccer warm up, there were high hopes that Michael Grabner would come back better than ever in his second call up and earn a full-time NHL roster spot. The hope was that Grabner could form a formidable second line with fellow speedsters Mason Raymond and Ryan Kesler which would forcibly free up Mikael Samuelsson and Pavol Demitra to form a third scoring line with Kyle Wellwood in the middle. <img s

Could we see Grabner dealt on Wednesday?

Vancouver Canucks fans marveled Michael Grabner's performance in the short nine game stint he had with the team. Grabner picked up two goals and three assists and showed us that he had NHL speed, shot, and defensive conscience to play amongst the elite. But like for the most of his hockey career, consistency remains a problem. He had a torrid start to the season playing on the top line with Sergei Shirokov which earned him the call up in mid-October when Daniel Sedin went down with a foot

Why is Rypien still in the lineup?

I was disappointed when I found out that Darcy Hordichuk would be scratched in favour of Rick Rypien because in my eyes he's been invisible all year long. I made it my goal to watch Rypien carefully and critically Monday night. My assessment is in and Rypien should not be in the lineup over Hordichuk and Hansen. As a whole our fourth line was owned by B

It was brought to our attention by Icethetics.info in blog posts on both December 1, 2009 and December 3, 2009 that the Canucks may be switching to their modernized stick-in-rink jersey as their home jersey for the 2010-11 NHL campaign. It's interesting to note that on Sunday at the team's annual SuperSkills event, Team Blue wore the team's third jersey feat

Decision Time: Who comes out of the lineup on Wednesday?

Ryan Johnson's anticipated return to the Canucks lineup on Wednesday night against the Edmonton Oilers will mean a decision will need to be made on who comes out of the lineup. Winger Steve Bernier and defenceman Aaron Rome could also return. After a 6-2 drubbing of the Pittsburgh Penguins, it's hard to pinpoint a particular player who had a bad game.

Coming out of training camp, Tanner Glass and Sergei Shirokov made it, Pavol Demitra was suppose to be back by mid- or late-October, Br

Ryan Johnson placed on injured reserve – What does this mean for Grabner?

Rogers Sportsnet Canucks game host @sportsnetmurph is reporting center Ryan Johnson has been placed on injured reserve, which means his foot injury will keep him out of the lineup for at least one week. This brings the Canucks active roster down from the maximum of 23 to 22 players. With Johnson on injured reserve, this will enable the Canucks to call-up a forward from the
