CCC - Clay's Canucks Commentary for June 7, 2011: A Finger-Licking Butt-Kicking (Game 3 Recap)
The Boston Bruins got back into the series with a massive 8-1 thumping of the Vancouver Canucks in game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals. After a scoreless first period, the Bruins scored 4 goals in both the 2nd and 3rd periods on their way to an easy win.
Despite Boston coach Claude Julien's claims that the Bruins wouldn't stoop to the Canucks' level (with respect to the finger-biting of game 1 and the finger-taunting in game 2), both Mark Recchi and Milan Lucic seemed intent on having the Canucks lick their fingers. Perhaps they had a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken for their pre-game meal?
I also question Alain Vigneault's decision to leave Roberto Luongo in goal to start the 3rd, and lament the Canucks' ineffective powerplay.
Game 4 should be really interesting on Wednesday night in Boston's TD Garden.
