  5. Can people stop replying to Alflives already? It's like trying to reply to Apollo and change his mind - or better yet, desi, who I have on my ignore list but continue to have to see the posts of when people keep quoting his crap. Same here, I've put Alflives on ignore for his complete lack of realism yet every third post is someone quoting him when they reply.

  6. That is the exact reason he could lose his job, because he is in the spotlight as the face of the organization. Hockey is a business that is largely marketing. Winning is good for business of course but throwing your full support making the face of your company that of a convicted rapist... well not so much great for business. Rapists/Sex Offenders are seen as negatively as you can get by society (far far worse than hitting a woman). The negative additional attention will be far worse than what Rice got. Potential sponsors and endorsers may back out, nonstop protests for the rest of his career, much of their own city and fans will not support it. Even if he goes through all the steps and says the right things people are not very accepting of convicted sex offenders. How often does a convicted rapist get a job and see his coworkers embrace him at any point even if he is nice to them for years? IMO if Kane is convicted of rape the organization will cut ties with him because of the extreme public response for it. Rice is in a league full of all sorts of terrible criminal activity and was elite himself and now with some player support he is still struggling just to get a 2nd chance after taking all the right steps. Selling a convicted rapist though in current day... I just don't think it is possible xD As far as Rice goes I will admit it will be hard for him to have a worse season than he did in 2013. Being out for a year could have him out of football shape but a better O-line and health is a plus. With that said he is still at that carry count where many big time RB's start to decline (of course there are a good many examples of RBs who went well over that carry count). IMO I still feel his top tier days are over and at best he will be an average RB but if a team is desperate he is low risk and high reward.

  9. Just cause it's a Canucks forum doesn't mean you need to overrate players that much.. Even if he reaches Bergeron's level, Bergeron isn't even a top 5 center in the NHL.

  10. No one is arguing that Tulo hasn't been average. Obviously he needs to produce more offensively, and when he does it'll be a huge boost to an already amazing offense, but the defense he provides also saves a lot of runs, saves pitch counts for the pitchers etc. At least when he is slumping offensively, it doesn't hurt his defense which is outstanding. Donaldson, Bautista, EE can pick Tulo up for now offensively, as well as other hitters deeper in the order. I won't be worried about Tulo until his defensive game starts slumping along with his offensive game, but until then, Tulo will be fine.

  11. You have zero evidence supporting what you say and you won't find any because you cannot predict the future. Horvat is not yet better than ROR. They both weigh pretty much the same around 210 so Horvat is not "a lot heavier". Horvat has spent one season in the NHL. He has a long, LONG, ways to go before he gets to Ryan O'Reilly's level let alone Kopitar... I don't even see similarities between Kopitar. Scouts said repeatedly Ryan O'Reilly when it came to Horvat prior and at the draft.

  13. Te be honest I think Suggs looks like a bonehead on all levels in regards to that play. Outside of the fact that he completely misread the play he is now running his mouth telling people to, "learn the rules." A remark that makes utterly no sense considering Suggs was in fact penalized for that hit, not because he hit Bradford, but because he targeted Bradford's knees. A rule that has been around 6-7 years now as I am sure everyone remembers it as the, "Brady Rule." If anyone needs to learn the rules it is the Ravens who racked up 17 penalties in that game alone. I am not worried about Bradford though. Suggs hit was illegal I doubt the division rivals are simply going to say hey lets just start taking illegal runs at all our rivals knees and I don't think Bradford is fragile because of the Williams hit. It was a big hit anyone would have felt that for a few plays but Bradford popped back up and lead them for a TD. Plus keep in mind the NFC East unfortunately wasn't exactly a division full of menacing defenses. The highest ranked YPG team was the Cowboys and they were only 19th overall in the NFL (28th in sacks). The Eagles (who obviously don't play themselves) and the Giants were the only 2 teams that got after the QB well (Ravens were #2 in sacks for reference). Yet the Giants still didn't get after the Eagles QB's much given how lopsided those games were and Greg Hardy should help the Cowboys 28th ranked sack defense but keep in mind he will miss the 1st game due to suspension and even when he returns he has to face Jason Peters one of the better OL in the NFL. New season will bring new stats but I am not overly worried about Sam's health just because he took 1 big hit (something that will happen to every QB). QB's who get hit a lot are the ones you have to worry about health wise so unless that becomes a trend no reason to worry, he is a QB who has played behind some lines in the past where he has taken a lot of hits and managed decently health wise so I don't think he is overly fragile. He just had that unfortunate ACL tear followed by that bad rehab stint. As long as it is healed now he should be fine (it has been over a year now).

  14. You know everyone was saying United will have problems in the back with the lack of quality defenders but so far that isn't the case. We haven't allowed a goal in the prem but instead our problems are upfront. We have scored 2 goals so far in 3 matches and and one of them was an own goal. It's just not good enough to be title contenders. When I think of our teams in the past we have always had that one player that strikes fear into the opponent like Cantona, the duo of Yorke and Cole, Ronaldo and young Rooney. We don't have that anymore. Rooney doesn't do that anymore because he doesn't have the pace and while i think Memphis will be that player in a few seasons, he isn't there right now either. If you look at the top teams in the prem they have those game changing players that strike fear in you. City have Aguero and Silva, Chelsea have Hazard and Costa and then Arsenal... nvm. In all seriousness, before this transfer window ends United need to buy a player like that who can be a game changer and put the ball in the back of the net because without that we don't have a chance to win the title imo.

  15. Yep. Great goal. As KD said, Koffie was terrific last night and once again, Waston showed why he has been one of the best signings in the team's history. Absolutely dominant in the air, time and again winning the ball and clearing it out of danger. We definitely missed him against Sporting KC...

  17. Monahan plays top line minutes and because of that he plays against the top end players like Kopitar, Getzlaf, the Sedins. That is far from easy. Monahan at this point is the better player. There's no denying that. Horvat needs to have a stellar sophmore season to get up to speed with Monahan. I also think if both Horvat and Monahan reach their ceilings then they both will be at similar talent levels IMO. If Horvat becomes an elite 2nd line shutdown C and Monahan becomes a top goal scoring C that's capable of playing the hard match ups then it should be some solid bouts between the two of them. Horvat = Ryan O'Reilly type player Monahan = Jeff Carter type player

  18. He's right. If your gonna run the read option, expect to get hit. After the Suggs hit, Bradford got smoked a couple plays later by Brandon Williams. Dude looks fragile af. Pope couldn't bless him enough lmao But yeah that may have been a dirty hit. Bradford turning makes it look even worse. If Suggs is going for the knees, imagine what division rivals will do. Bradford won't last half the season imo

  19. Pato was a championship/football manager monster back in the day, too. Always tried to sign him when I managed a mid table team, and he was a 40+ goal scorer year after year He gets the FM Stamp of Approval
