  1. I think people are being a bit impatient with Baertschi. It's important to remember that it's only 16 games in, and imo, baertschi has made great progress since the start of the season. He clearly has the skillset to be a great player, he just needs some time to work on his overall game. We tend to forget that NHL players are human and how important the psyche is to their game. Sven was terribly handled in Calgary and that lead to most of the city giving up on him. That probably had a big impact on his confidence. I think he needs time and support to feel like he belongs in the NHL, and that support starts with the fans. We as fans have a huge influence on players' production. They know how we feel about them, especially now with social media. When the city was behind Luongo, he was the best goalie in the league, and when we turned our backs and blamed him he had terrible games. I think we gotta start supporting our players more, especially the youngins and players who've had it rough already like Baertschi. Give him some time, i'm sure it will come!

  3. I tend to disagree with the extra weight limiting mobility. I mean look at the speed of the guy we are talking about who weights 230 pounds. Or a guy like Burns, Doughty, well over 200 pounds. At 6'2, in the NHL you should be at MINIMUM of 200-210 as a defense man.

  6. I'm pretty sure that Edler is 6'3" and Tanev is 6'2". At least that's what the Canucks list them at. Either way, good point. Hopefully soon we will have a nice big D corps. Now if only Tanev could put on some size...

  7. Edler is the only physical D of the 3 though but it that'll change with Tryamnkin and Pedan I think with the emergence of Pedan they were able to convert Stewart into a forward instead. We're going to have a big mean team in the future

  15. I dont know where the baer despair is coming from CDC I think he is playing well.. Willie has also positively singled out Baer in post game interviews and said he had a strong game multiple times. TBH I like what I have seen from him so far and think he is going to continue to improve and the season is still young.

  23. I think we're in a fantastic position to get CL this year. Surely Leicester and West Ham will drop off at some point? We need to bring in a proper CF in January to rotate, someone like Ayoze Perez, maybe even Charlie Austin. Not really worried about midfield anymore, Dembele, Dier, and Alli have massively exceeded expectations. Only issue is the lack of like-for-like cover for Dier. No idea who we'd target for that though, maybe Cattermole lol Townsend is done, Onomah and Pritchard should easily fill that void.
