  1. Unfortunately I didn´t watch Jasek that closely shift by shift but at least some highlights that caught my attention. You could see he is one of the most skilled players on the team, his strength are his smarts, unusual and quick decisions and quickness on the forecheck (even though he was not used that much, played a center and was usually skating around middle of the ice. Few highlights: - He escaped his own corner under the pressure and zone with a puck on his stick by smart moves (rejecting two forechecking players) - He created a big chance on the forecheck around blueline where he stole a puck (was not a goal) - He scored on PP, was left alone in front of goalie after bad giveaway, shot it low and scored on rebound (before the play he smartly jumped in the middle in o-zone and had a good shot - He tried to create space for teammates by skilled passes going against flow of plays He played 3rd line center, was used a lot on PK and 2nd PP ... I think he looked above other players on skill level but was not greater force as it was maybe hard for him to have a chemistry with his team (sometimes, team is now struggling). Anyway, limited view.

  2. Already been "spun" Rod. http://www.snopes.com/texas-vote-switching/ Because one of them is going to become President. It's all well and good to claim the moral high ground and say "I'm not voting for either of them", but voting for either of the other two candidates literally is throwing your vote away. These are the two candidates that the US has been given, so Americans need to hold their noses and vote for the one they find least objectionable. To me, it's a simple choice, but some people seem to be swayed by "bombshell" leaks that never really show anything and of course, silly conspiracy theories, like rigged voting machines. I have actually. But seeing as a few of you seem to have selective vision, I'll post it again. From Snopes.com: (More information in the link above) Claim: Voters across Texas have witnessed their votes switch from "straight Republican" to Democrat on compromised voting machines. mostly false WHAT'S TRUE: A woman in Tarrant County claimed that her vote switched from Republican to Democrat and she caught and corrected the error; a subsequent investigation determined the machine was working properly, and the woman admitted she may have erroneously selected the wrong candidate. WHAT'S FALSE: Reports are not flooding in from across Texas about vote switching, and most anecdotes are identical with localities changed.

  5. Really, Harvey, does anybody actually care anymore about what the Wikileaks reveal? Just as nobody even blinks anymore when another woman claims she was groped or kissed by Trump, the shock value of a bunch of emails has faded to almost nothing. It seems the politically powerful use email pretty much like everyone else does, to exchange private ideas, strategies and assessments of others. I wonder how many of us would be keen to have our entire email histories published. Rather than portraying Clinton as some sort of evil monster, the emails of those around her are mind-numbingly boring and pedestrian. Assange has overplayed his hand. He has promised to bring down the Clinton campaign, but I have to ask,"If he had the goods on Hillary, why is he waiting for the last minute before the big reveal? Don't you think he'd want to bury her early to allow Trump to build his support?" All in all, the Wikileaks have so far turned into one gigantic snoozefest.

  6. There are quite a few differences between Revere and Upton. Revere is a true lead off hitter, while Upton is not. Upton hasn't had an OBP over .300 since 2011 and his strikeout rate has been around 30%. Revere, OTOH hadn't dipped below .300 OBP since his rookie year of 2010. He also strikes out far less than Upton, about once in every 10 AB, over his MLB career. Finally, Revere didn't start hitting last season because he was placed in the lead off spot, his hitting came around before he was put at the top of the order. Like a lot of guys, (Tulo included) there was a period of adjustment for a player coming from one league to the other. There a plenty of reason s to criticize Gibby this past season, but not leading off Upton is an extremely poor one. You don't stick a guy hitting .196 in the leadoff spot in the hopes that it will bring his bat around, especially is the midst of a playoff run.

  8. Once again, keep your eyes on Nate Silver's website. For the 2 election cycles that it has existed, his algorithm has correctly predicted 99 out of 100 states correctly. He has Clinton winning the election in a landslide in the electoral college votes. http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo

  11. You know I am busting your chops silly G I've never said anything except the amount of evidence pointing towards her and her recorded issues is pretty damning. But nobody will EVER get a pure admission of guilt from her. That would be like Willie D admitting he plays former Tigers more because of bias. But for all of the allegations towards Trump, Hillary has many more that involve her time while in office which in my eyes counts quite a lot. It's just sad that this gets ignored the way it does in some mad scramble to degrade the other guy. it's like accusing someone else of being a bad parent while your child is choking in front of you.

  14. To those that say "who cares about the leaks, no big deal etc" you are playing the game the media want you to pplay. The government s breaking rules for the elite, screwing the little people and they are doing right to your face now. Without the emails it would have still bben behind your back. Enjoy it I guess, however, from our perspective it is a disgusting abuse of power and accountability . Oh, and of course illegal.

  15. Harvey Spector ... don't know how long you want to carry this illusion on but .... Like others have said, the strategy for the wiki leaks was terrible. First they don't have a whole lot of substance. Secondly, people are wikileak fatigued out ... it's like a Chinese water torture reading the batches of emails or watching those Veritas clips.

  18. I agree. Don't you think that the "bombshells" would have been released BEFORE early voting started. Or BEFORE the National Debates where TRUMP! and PENCE! could have highlighted those "bombshells" to a large NATIONAL audience, thus maximizing their political capital. Even this Project Veritas stuff seems like a last ditch, hail mary, desperate attempt.

  20. That's some real good logic. haha. The debate could be the only reason a dollar rose, therefor we can extrapolated that data and boom,,, Wait the dollar has went down since then, only to have a bigger rise between 2 and 4 pm on Tuesday....You mean it has sharp rises and declines every day? I can't believe people would actually by that garbage. Right now neither are good for us. Hilary is bought and paid for by foreign oil (not Canada) that hurts our export into the US. Say goodbye to projects like Keystone. On the other hand Trump said he would approve Keystone pipeline which would be huge for the canadian economy. But he's also threatens to rip up NAFTA which brings huge uncertainty.

  24. During his end of the season press conference, Atkins said he wants to bump the payroll up to 170-180M, which puts them just outside of the top 5 payroll in baseball. Whether or not Rogers allows them to do that, is a different question. Although, it shouldn't be a tough sell to them, just look at the total attendance record this season, ranked 3rd highest amongst the league. Really, all he has to say is, "if you build a good team, they will come.".

  29. Just wait till late november when teams toughen up alot more an get gritty on run up to 40 games .His skill set will be needed in the line up. JB is just managing him to stay under 40 game mark for expansion protection purposes . .He is ready for 6th or 7 th D game conditions an will be another surprise he does not need Utica he needs to bide his time learn english an defensive system practice with team is good. . we already have a project down there in Pedan who is darn near ready now for bottom pairing minutes maybe half season more .

  30. Not sure but at the time he signed it was one way contract with stipulations in it no AHL.JB was somewhat desperate to improve our depleted D last march. I have learned to be somewhat circumspect with WD language about players that have not endured themselves to WD.He will add to our blue line depth at some point ,perhaps injurys an road games will allow him to ease into lineup into November.

  32. This thread is insane. If there are that many people in the states that will vote for this insane man i dont know what is left for us as a species. Maybe we might as well end it in nuclear war. Cause who cares anymore, we are a worthless species that deserves to be exterminated. Anyone thinking I am advocating for Hillary is insane. Vote Mcmullin or write someone elses name in.

  33. See this is kind of crap that makes me want to slap one of these new fangled left wing morons who are literally no different than them new fangled right wing morons. You don't agree with Trumps policies or the type of human being he is, so you will then take it out on his child and the no doubt tens of thousands of people working minimum wage jobs in retail by not shopping where those lines are sold. Ya, way to go. That will teach them won't it. because you know...voting would be too hard

  35. I'll tell you what I don't have a sad ass excuse for Virtanen being on the NHL roster, last year or this McCann being on the NHL roster past the 20 game mark last season McCann being on an NHL roster this season, but he is in Fla so I am not really paying any attention to what happens over there. I think he is playing because they have 2 injured forwards ( not going to use any of my sad ass excuses on FLa, saving them for the Canucks)

  38. The kid is just not NHL ready, plain and simple. He shouldn't have been on the team last year, and he definitely shouldn't be on the team this year now that the AHL is an option. I've never been very high on Jake's ability to become a legit offensive threat in the NHL (I think he could be a consistent ~40 point contributor), but the longer he stays up in the NHL looking like a fish out of water the more likely it is that he doesn't even reach that. Send the kid down and let him gain some confidence and hone his talents in a league more suited to his current ability level.
