  1. Saw this too. In 6-9 months this could all be almost over. Thank God and thanks to the scientists bright enough to have a solution. Not to get biblical - but you can see what’s happening in the US and it’s scary as sh!t. One Horseman and one A-hole Nazi is a melting pot for the start of a really bad thing. War historically always follows pestilence- and that A-hole isn’t letting Biden know what sort of threats the country faces at the moment and acting like a dictator. Knowing a cure is coming will help calm things down but Trump is already using this to rile up his supporters becau

  2. http://www.covid-19canada.com/ 4,196,100 Active cases in the U.S. https://www.us-covid-tracker.com/?time=14d Over 100,000 cases per day for the last 12 days, way more than 100,000 on most of those days. While Canada is not doing great with 50,251 active cases it is easy to see the difference a calm, mostly unified approach makes to curtailing this virus.

  3. We have to bend the curve again. Right over the head of those not wearing masks and complying....am I right? Defiant yoga jokers and Granville loiterers with no brain power.

  4. I find it very strange that people who support "herd immunity" either don't know or care, that herd immunity means deliberately letting people die of the disease.

  5. Ha ha. Come and live in Ontario. Ford has done an ok job considering. But BC - especially considering more cases originated there initially- has done so much better. What’s happening there right now has more to do with the people ignoring regulations then what’s been regulated. Also think because the first wave was so mild that BC residents haven’t quite figured it out yet- but they will eventually. Atlantic Canada definitely has their own thing going on. They’ve been lucky though. But smart enough to make sure it stays that way for the most part. Here it

  7. Moderna says its coronavirus vaccine appears to be 94.5% effective https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/moderna-vaccine-test-coronavirus-1.5803266 For the second time this month, there's promising news from a COVID-19 vaccine candidate: Moderna said Monday its shots provide strong protection, a dash of hope against the grim backdrop of coronavirus surges in the United States and around the world. Moderna said its vaccine appears to be 94.5 per cent effective, according to preliminary data from the company's still-ongoing study. A week ago, competitor Pfizer Inc. announced its ow

  9. With training camps potentially just weeks away there’s currently 17 teams that are either at or over the cap. With the uncertainty of fans being able to attend next season I can’t imagine too many teams with lots of cap are looking to spend. So the question is how do that many teams get under the cap? Are we about to see a flurry of trades? Are the teams with cap simply going to take on a bunch of big contracts? Or is the NHL going to have to intervene and offer compliance buyouts again? Either way if the NHL goes ahead with a January 1st start we should se

  14. It’s ridiculous that some folks think that their right not to wear a mask and spread the disease is more important. Yes freedom’s are important. Like freedom from idiocy. We are so very lucky to be born of to immigrate to such an awesome country. When I was 22 I was at Whistler and met some US marines. At the time a few Canadian higher up military types were also there b!tching a little bit about current events. One of the marines cut them up by saying something I will never forget “we’ve been all around the world and in some of the worst sh!tholes you can imagine... if your born in

Trade 1 Tyler Johnson and Cal Foote for Kole Lind Trade 2 Eriksson, Pearson, and a 2023 -1st for One of Ottawa/Detroit/New Jersey's..... 2021 3rd Rounder So Trade 1, Tampa will have to do something and it will cost, I am of the belief that, they will lose 2 valueable pieces of their cup team, and the cost will be painful. 22. Myers will likely be exposed. Every team has to leave exposed at least 1 D (and 2 Fs) who have played 40 games or 70 games over the past 2 seasons and who are still under contract for 2021/22. Only Myers and Nate Schmidt qualify. Edler and Benn are UFAs and prospects like Brisebois, Raffferty etc might not reach the game threshold. It's not yet known if they will pro-rate the game requirements due to the shortened seasons.

  23. I think if MDP crushes it in the AHL next season, Demko shows he can play a heavy load and Holtby gets taken by Seattle, he may get a look as the backup. Unlikely though, I think we`d still bring in a one year stop gap and get him another year in Utica. I agree that he is very talented, but still very raw.

  27. Sorry for your loss. My older cousin passed away due to breast cancer in July. Her funeral was done via zoom. Not the ideal way but it was what could be managed under the circumstances.

  28. Yah, covid is pretty dramatic actually. I am still waiting for the funeral of one of the most important people in my life - she passed away last March... still no funeral due to covid. Could not even visit her the last month of her life.... not allowed in to hospital..... Did not really want to fly there last March also...... So yes it is very dramatic for many of us.

  29. Tend to agree. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the kid's makeup and think he's going to eventually be a very solid player for us for many years. (I also hope he, Podkolzin and Lind are all going to start pushing Virtanen to take his NHL career more seriously.) He might get a few games later this (bound to be weird) season and some time as a 'black ace' etc. But he should finish his year in Europe and likely is still another 1-2 years from being an everyday NHL player IMO.

  30. I have no idea where the idea that Rafferty struggled defensively comes from. I watched all the games, only Brisebois was better defensively - and it was close. As the season went on, Rafferty was given increasing defensive responsibility - last minute of a period or game, etc., either protecting a lead or coming from behind. He is a dynamic player who drives the play, and getting out of your own end with possession is a huge part of defending, as we learned in last year’s playoff against Vegas. Demko stood on his head, but other than Hughes, getting out of our zone with possession was an ent

  31. Hello, excited about Hoglander but I don't think he can make the Canucks... He has 9 points in 14 SHL games and he has lots of room to move around..Hoglander 1 - 2 yrs away, Utica call up should play 10-12 games with injuries.. The NHL is much tougher and much more talent league...Sorry he has lots of speed 5'10" similar to Lockwood ?? Now Podkolzin will make the NHL and sign with Canucks when the KHL season is over 6'2, 200 lbs gritty and talented ready for NHL style..

  32. Whose doesn’t? There is no perfect defenseman since Bobby Orr. By whom? Doubt that it was people who actually watched him play. You don’t get the second highest +/- on the team by being poor on D. When you are playing big minutes at the critical times in games you don’t get a big +/- by being poor defensively. That duck does not fly, it’s a canard.

  33. I've come to the conclusion that a large (or loud) portion of the fanbase is just, frankly, mentally weak. They need everything to go perfectly immediately and just buckle in the presence of adversity. Also, overly emotional in their reasoning ; just a great big amygdala hijack after every loss.
