  1. He was only excited to play under Desjardins for the Canucks.

  2. People are ungrateful! And comment more than they watch hockey. 6'2'' RHD that can play 20 minutes a night. Up and down a line up. Kill penalties. On a shutdown pair. Or with a top offensive guy like Leddy Giordano Hughes do not grow on tree's. Hamonic even drops the mitts... Such a player is worth more than $2 mill. I get loyalty. But Hamonic is the guy I am more determined to keep than Edler. In part because we at least have other LHD. His role is much harder to replace IMO.

  4. Gotta let it go Jan. Those wins weren't for the fans, the coaches, management, nothing. Those last few wins were for the team, and they earned him. I would have been embarrassed to be a Canuck if they mailed it in for a draft pick. The kids want to win, we can only respect that and support them. We are going to get a hell of a player at 9.

  8. Wish Edler would consider doing something like this. Edler is about the same age now as Spezza was when he signed that first (2019-20) 35+ contract at 700K with the Leafs. Would love to see us doing a series of league minimum one year deals with Edler, for as long as he wants to play. (Not that I’d blame Edler or his agent for trying to get something closer to his actual worth, just would be nice to have a similar level bargain deal, for Edler, as what the Leafs have managed with Spezza.)

  10. Hey everyone - I've been closely following the drafts for the last 10 years and as there has been almost nothing to do for the last year thanks to our old friend Corona I watched a lot of footage, and read a lot of reports. So, As my first post on these here forums I wanted to provide a slightly different take on a draft list which doesn't so much describe and rank the players but takes the Range I feel they are predicted to go in taken from many many sources while adding my own personal bias - From there i have added some theories on how likely they are to rise of fall around or beyond

  14. I dunno man, I'm all for discussion and even arguments, but it just seems like you're always on the negative, critical, fear-mongering, sky-is-falling, everything is bad side of things. I can respect wanting to be objective (though I don't agree with you that you are, and therein lies the paradox), but the occasional optimistic outlook makes the bitter medicine easier to swallow.

  15. Sorry to hear that, IRR. I lost my father last month after a lengthy battle with liver cancer. Seeing him lose his ability to move and speak was devastating. I truly hope your son is on the mend. I have three sons myself, and know that they are everything to me. There is way more to life than hockey, for sure. I think the majority of us here do love the team. I know I do, and always will. Tried rooting for another team but it gave me a migraine. Some folks have been beaten down by being the bridesmaid and never the bride and it has embittered them. I think one can be r

  16. I totally understand. I thankfully cant imagine the stress that comes with almost losing a child. I am very relieved to hear that you didnt and that despite it bending you, it didnt break you. All Canucks related disagreement and frustration aside, that itself is something you should be very proud of.

  18. Yea hilarious that your client has been paid 33 million to mail it in. Real respectable. Also I love how he says we’ll have a discussion before the buyout window and see if that’s the way to go. Like he has any say in it. There won’t be any discussion if they decide to buy him out. It will be Benning saying thanks for nothing.

  19. ...and I made no comment on that point. I'll leave it to others to conduct that debate. My comment was directed at Mao's intent. While it's true that he thought his ideas would improve the country's outlook overall, it's also true that he didn't care how many millions died to see his goals through. We could debate which of Mao, Stalin or Hitler was "the worst", but I see little point in such a line of discussion. All three knowingly and purposely took an active part in the deaths of millions. That tells me all I need to know about their "intentions"....

  20. Went to bed at just before 11 pm tonight totally exhausted, with in a couple of minutes I was shaking so hard I knocked the cat off the bed. Note to myself and others, do NOT knock the cat off the bed, he definately didn't like that, at all. Up at 1:30 feeling quesy, but it was better to be upright, suffered an involuntary personal protien spill around 2:30. Good thing I booked Wed. off. Definately more intense symptoms with this second shot. ( AZ and a Moderna )

  21. Oh, this is just rich coming from you; the poster that blamed everyone else except Dahlen. Dahlen didn't get traded because of a concussion. That much is clear. Having the concussions afterward are unfortunate incidents. I wish them on no one. But the fact remains: Dahlen had a chance to play with Pettersson. All he had to do was play out the AHL year and shut up. Then train hard for the summer, come back for training camp and force his way into a lineup. But noooooo. Here's something from after the Dahlen trade. Did Benning lie about this? https

  32. He has high IQ, he slows and speeds up and uses a lot of deception in the Ozone to create lanes for himself and others. I think the biggest thing with him is getting stronger and I agree with your risky play assessment, there’s a lot he can get away with in college that he won’t be able to in the NHL, that’s where coaching comes into play. If he’s not bullheaded, and Mel Pearson (Michigan head coach) loves the kid and raves about his learnability, then he will be fine. There’s no reason to assume he’ll be difficult to coach, if anything it seems like the complete opposite. Every prospect comes

  33. Thank you! And i'm very very sorry to hear that...been there and it is horrible!! I hate the C word! I hope you are managing okay and the wonderful memories are guiding you through this tough time!! As with WSA, i apologize for being so harsh, but when you go through something sooo negative / life altering (plus, there was a couple other things attached to that), you just want to seek refuge in anything positive / things you love, so hearing a bunch of negativity doesn't really help that. I guess ignoring / doing other stuff is best, but it's everywhere these days it seems.

  34. other players have done it. Yes ire is owed for Loui's part in the deal. He's taken 32 million in part with the understanding of good faith that there would have been some good return. Its been a disaster, no one can deny that. If Loui had the integrity of a Naslund, e.g., he'd terminate and let Barry go get him a 35+ deal with performance bonuses. Goodwill plays a big part in all contracts, and Loui has not lived up to that part of his deal.

  36. Don’t know whether to laugh or cry on this one: If there were only some way to really investigate what happened and get to the bottom of it. Like, I dunno, maybe a bipartisan January 6th commission? And Revolver News being “one of the last honest outlets on the internet? Lol, yeah sure, a “news” source with a questionable level of factual reporting and rated as having an “extreme right” media bias? Sounds trustworthy to me. Gotta love how the right wing media somehow manages to completely ignore the obvious role of Trump and the GO
