  1. girlie looking...?....is that showing respect for people....you probably call the twins, sisters and lesser talents as garbage.....how many of us have ever made the sacrifices and dedicated so much of our time and effort to reach our goals as they have..

  2. Kapanen is the same size as Bennett, and Larkin. An inch shorter than Reinhart, Draisatl, Virtanen. And an inch taller than Sonny Milano. I recommend you mark all these players as undersized as well. So much bias in these rankings it's obvious you are a very narrow-minded person. "Nylander, the girlie-looking powerplay specialist wildcard, will drop that far because of his attitude problems."

  5. Your bias is showing lol. Virtanen has more positives than the top three players in the draft. Why don't you tack on to that list of descriptions 't' for tunnel vision. Virtanen has no awareness of teammates on the ice. He's a me myself and I type player.

  8. You need to get real. This "LOL" garabge is no substitute for common sense. The team has been in a free fall since October. It just picked up acceleration as time went on. LOL while while Rome burns. Great solution.

  12. Since Rasmus Andersson was ranked 92nd or whatever, it looks like Calgary made a mistake when they picked him up so early. It might be a bigger mistake than when they traded Sven Bearcheese to us in the first place, as he is a talented 1st rounder with a wealth of skill and scoring ability. Clearly, Jim Benning knows what he's doing and we should all trust his judgement, whether it be drafting character guy Jake Virtanen over franchise potential scorers Nik Ehlers and William Nylander, or trading Lack instead of Ryan Miller. He is the GM and he knows more than any of the teenaged a

  15. Like it or not, professional athletes are role models for children. They get media training in part because everything they say reflects not only on their organization and sport as a whole but also because it can be so influential with children. What they said was rude, disgusting, and uncalled for and if a child said that kind of thing about a classmate we'd call it bullying. It's time to set an example and start holding adults to the same level of self control we expect from children. It's not about whether or not the Sedins had their feelings hurt (and I don't believe for a second they gave

  16. No problem. Hopefully it comes of some use somehow. This draft should be a good one for many teams. Canucks probably won't load up on picks this year, but there will be other drafts too. Should be interesting to see how these prospects work down the stretch and into their playoffs. Who'll elevate their game?

  18. Thank you for your input. @the_grinder: Grenier is a solid prospect, but I believe that the guys I listed all have higher upside. If I had an honorable mentions list, he would be on it. @Absent_Canuck: I'd like to hear your reasoning for these assumptions. All scouting reports indicate that Virtanen very well could be a 30 goal NHL player, he was one of the best, if not the best, pure goal scorer in his class. As for Gaunce, like I said, he looks to be a very good 3rd line center.I compared him to Berglund, who has had one 50 point year, but is usually more in the 35-45 range, which i

  19. I agree that Gillis must go, he is the one that decides who's contract get renewed, and how much for, who gets traded away, and trade in. The whole GoalieGate fiasco that cost us 2 top starting goalies was the result of the ridiculous contract given to Lou. We get Kassian for Hodgson, and let Raymond go, those 2 young players have 71pnts this year, our veteran Sedins have 81 (there is a 22 pnt difference between Hodgson and Kassian, and how many goals has Kassian enabled being in the box) I am not sure about Torts, I do wonder if the team is behind him, but at the same time think Gillis h

  20. 100% agree sadly. I like Tortorella. I really do. I hate bashing him, and I won't say anything negative about him. But styles do clash. I agree with the assessment of many commentators that Tortorella's style works best with young players. Tortorella just does not mesh well with a team of old veterans like the Canucks. Mike Gillis HAS to go. If you keep Torts, you need to trade Kesler and Edler (great players with value) and get young. At least with a younger skilled team Torts can do some work. But MG is incompetent.

  21. "Since Grabner has left the Canucks, he has 70 goals and 44 assists" He sure does, but that comes AFTER getting waived by the Panthers who were the League's bottom-feeders. He then realized he had to get better or get sent down by the WORST team in the League then, so his play got better with the Isles who claimed him. At that time the Canucks weren't seeing him as a fit in the Top 6, while he was too small to be in the bottom so they dealt him for a Top-4 D-man who looked like he would help, since the Canucks weren't in need of scoring as badly when he was here and he didn't have a spot

  23. John Garrett has become more of a fan than a true reporter. However we can't fault him for that; he's paid to follow this team. I too, thought his conspiracy idea was more something a fan tends to feel and express. Having said all that, I do find it hilarious that currently (after game 13) Daniel Sedin (yes that goon) is leading the Canucks in penalty minutes and his goon brother tie for 3rd with Kassian and behind Sestito. So, perhaps there's something to be said about Garrett's theory??

  29. Saying that the Canucks are willing to package up a player in a trade is about one step below an unsubstantiated rumour. Since the Gretzky trade, pretty much every GM is willing to deal any player if the right deal is available. Why didn't you just stick with the 100+ post thread that this topic came from?

  30. Pedan has also exceed my expectations. I didn't think he'd be even close, but he looks surprisingly close to NHL-ready. My guess is that he's still got to master the thinking of the game, but other than that, he's doing pretty well for himself.

  34. I would rather have Gardiner over Edler, Lack and Reimer are a wash and those players cancel out salary more or less. It wouldn't make sense to move Corrado as we are sorely lacking in defensive depth. Love him or hate him, Kadri is an elite level 2nd line player. Kadri - Bonino - Burrows is a very good 2nd line Moving Higgins on the Vey line over Richardson makes them so much better, other than weakness on faceoffs.

  35. I'd perhaps consider the above mentioned deal if that were Reilly(not Gardiner). Really don't want to deal Lack, for their junk. Still don't think I'd do this, unless we got a Leafs 1st rounder..Hell with them, after the games DN played, at deadline. Overpay, or go pound salt.

  36. Kariya had scored 100pts in 39 games before he was drafted. No I would not ignore that. He's also 5'11. Martin St. Louis is the go-to example for short players these days. He is a pure muscle freak of nature. He's one of the toughest, if not the toughest player in the league. Bure wasn't huge, but wasn't tiny either. He was also a freak, and elitely skilled. I'm suggesting the Canucks get more players like him. Ciccarelli was around the same size as Bure. Savard was 5'10". He scored 181pts in 72gp before being drafted. Would that be ignored by anyone? Nope. Clarke was 5

  38. Great analogy. Awesome words of advice as well . I agree with most of what you have written but the main point realistically for many is that the small things really matter. Their quality of life depends on these tiny moments, possessions or events that seem inconsequential to us but really mean the world to them. Yes it sounds incredibly pretentious but it is very real. I myself try not to put too much value on anything that is material, it eventually leads to disappointment unless of course you are loaded. Inevitably even then the luster will tarnish. Many things that are meaningful to ot

Aside from that, I feel so down when I read stories on the net about how all the canuck and luongo haters are rejoicing at our defeat. I feel we had a great run and a great season. I'm proud to be a canucks fan and will be forever.
