Fourteen years ago my son met someone ON THIS SITE....they were married on Sunday. Two of the attendees also met on here, are married and expecting their second child. So this site delivers!

Wife and I went for Ultrasound yesterday and SURPRISE. We are having TWINS! We have a 2 year old son already so our family is jumping from 1 child to 3. We are both very excited and terrified at the same time. We are keeping it low key for a few more weeks before telling everyone but I needed to tell someone. Figured my CDC Family would be a good place to freak out anonymously.

Hello everyone. I don't wanna start a thread, because I feel im not worth the read, so i'll leave it here. To be honest, I'm not feeling being on CDC anymore. I've had a lot of fun over the years, got banned once upon a time, and I thank Stealth for letting me back in with you guys, 3 years later, and giving me a second chance. I've grown up a lot over the years from when I first started posting to now. I've shared a lot of my pain, heartbreak and triumph over the years, to even sharing my stupid ugly face a couple of times, and I thank all of you for hearing me out, and allowing me to be an outlet when I felt I had no one to turn to, but I'm at a crossroads if I want to move on from CDC. I'll always be a Canucks fan first, but other sites (not reddit, not HF) are taking up most of my time, and I simply don't have the motivation to sign on here anymore. I'm not too great with words, but if anyone wants to keep in touch with me, i'm heavily active on twitter @Milahvee if you need a sig, wanna talk canucks or just need someone to talk to, don't be shy :3 i'll catch y'all down the road~

This year is already a success imo. Bo is clearly captain material. Boeser is the real deal. Pouliot might be the steal of the year. Goldy might be able to stick with the team. Our prospects are kicking ass. We have a great coach. If we fall out of contention we get a great pick. If the team is resilient and makes the playoffs that will be awesome to watch. Really I don't see a downside to this season no matter what.

I heard on Team 1040 that earlier this season during a stoppage in play, Shane Doan approached Bo Horvat and said, "You're my favourite young player, keep up the good work." After that Bo really seemed to start working even harder because of the respect shown to him. I know Doan's not a Canuck, but what a class act doing that for a young player not even on his team.

The comments from Laine and the fact that there are reports of a bit of discontent in the Jets' room makes me so happy our guys aren't divas...even if they like Fortnite. Good on paper doesn't always mean it works. I feel our team "works" together. Bo accepts his role when others are out. Petey just wants to be better. Jake is working toward how he can be his best and is working hard to prove that (not talking to the media about how unfair it is). Stech is a beast. Quinn's a treat. Brock wants to be here with his brothers. Etc. That's a team.

My wife. who knew absolutely nothing about hockey when I met her, just said the following when I told her brock boeser signed for 3 years: "Oh, that's awesome! That's when Luongo's recap penalty expires so we will have cap room to re-sign him!".......... yep, I've done my job converting her to a Canucks fan. Work accomplished.

It still irritates me so much when people call the Sedins "soft". They were far from bruisers but they didn't shy away from contact and winning those loose puck battles in the corners. How can these people ignore all the hacking/slashing/crosschecking that these guys continuously endured in the corner for their entire career while they looked to create offense for our team? They brought us 1 win away from a Stanley Cup with their blood, sweat and tears. In hindsight I do wish that Daniel had crosschecked the rat in the face, it wouldn't have made him any tougher but at least it would not have given many of these ingrates the opportunity to look down upon everything the Sedins did for this franchise.

Just realized Canucks are paying $8.75 M per year for two players in their prime who over past two seasons put up 44 goals 99 points and then 30 goals and 87 points. Injecting that kind of offence into lineup along with their size and nature of play - nicely done Canuck management.

So I matched with an Asian girl on tinder; I started off with a name pun and it's carried on from there... after I found out she was in accounting, I ask, "So hey, if you're good with regular numbers, how are you feel about phone numbers?" Of course I manage to screw up my English when it matters, and talking to an ESL student no less

If you're at the game tomorrow, dont boo Kesler, if for no other reason than to show respect for the Sedins.

What a great draft weekend for the Canucks. Probably hit a home run with their first round pick. Coming back to CDC to see some whining so hard is interesting. Canucks as a whole got a lot stronger over the weekend and walked away with far more prospects than they started and picked one of the leagues most versatile top six guys in his prime and on a very good contract (who if he plays as he has is far more valuable than a non-lottery first round pick on average). Added to the club friendly Edler signing, what a great week!

I want Dahlin too but if you take it upon yourself to call Canucks players "#@$%ing idiots" on Twitter for scoring goals, then you've clearly never had a job you took pride in doing. Also, go $%#^ yourself.

Trying to temper things, because I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. But my boss just put in an offer to buy a new office. Six minute drive from my house (which means I'll bike in the summer). Gorgeous office with 3 beautiful bathrooms (vs the one we share now...that doubles as our "kitchen sink"). A HUGE full kitchen...guy lived/worked at the office. All SS and cherry/granite in the loaded kitchen. Fireplace. Hardwood floors. (He has a huge wall mounted TV, pinball and pool table in there...wish those could stay). Gorgeous SW facing building with skylights (one right over the reception desk that would be mine). Rather than an ugly industrial area, there are two massive shopping areas up the road with a number of restaurants/amenities. STOKED. Come on now, get'er done. Movin' on up time.

I'm noticing how a lot of the troll posters seem to disappear when things are going well. They either stop posting completely, or don't comment on Canucks-related stuff. What do you bet they're all back in full force if and when things aren't going as well?

Best. Getting a tongue in cheek talking to from an NHL ref's Father sent via voicemail to my brother (they golf together). "You better straighten out that sister of yours....". LOL. Saw me ripping into refs on a status. Was all in good fun. FTR..he was the ref who awarded Petey the penalty shot. I asked if he could ref all our games.

Vancouver Canucks did two things today. 1. MUCH harder team to now play against and PK will be significantly better. 2. Added a ton of competition for roles that will create so much more in terms of the on-ice product. No $11 million for one guy, but the money spent was well spent.

Social media is a very weird environment. I find the extreme contempt and utter ignorance soul crushing. Have we been reduced to idiots unable to form a proper sentence (and proud) vs intelligent people being ridiculed because they're just not dumb enough? I opened my Facebook for the first time in months just in case an actual friend has had something happen in their life since the last time I checked... Big mistake. It just made me miserable. I'm completely dismayed by the lack of thought, shallow and biased articles, empty space existing in places that people used to reside. What happened? Why is everyone that comments on articles a complete &^@#ing idiot? Who gave these morons a voice? It's the things like "there" views, the clothing "thay" "whare". "Were are thay"(without a mother&^@#ing question mark). Dumb is not cool you &^@#ing tools. FFS Twitter isn't any better. People are &^@#ing morons and the intrawebs are killing our ability to even have discussions on relevant topics because the dumb and proud are actually so stupid they think they're winning. But they're &^@#ing everything up. There's no constructive dialogue in that mess, I'm really glad we have some here on CDC. End rant

I bet Rasmus Dahlin was watching the game in Sweden last night and praying to the Nordic Gods he becomes a Canuck. "Oh they do the Viking Clap in Vancouver?" Yes Rasmus... all the time, come join us.

My Grandpa served in WW2. To the best of my knowledge, he never returned. The details are sketchy to me as my mom doesn't talk about it much. I think about her today, and what times must have been like for those who grew up without their fathers, their brothers, their husbands, or their sons. You can't fault kids, teenagers, or even adults, in our present society for not knowing the true meaning or embodiment of the word 'sacrifice' as the times we live in are a direct result of the past sacrifice of others.

    There are only two NHL players with 60+ points & 100+ hits this season (take a guess, it’s incredible): 1- J.T. Miller - 63 pts, 105 hits 2 - Alexander Ovechkin - 60 pts, 167 hits

Last year my cheap boss and his son tried to crash a Christmas pizza party I threw (out of pocket) for students who'd helped cover my desk when I was away one day. This year, my new boss has given us a week of paid time off, is buying everyone huge Purdy's gift baskets and is providing substantial bonuses to staff. My how things change.

one thing i've learned from cdc, is that we all have different opinions. it doesn't make some right and some wrong. it just makes them different. we should be able to hear someone elses opinion with getting into name calling. lets agree to be different. we are all canucks.

I think Hutton just won me over with the following quote: "Growing up, I wasn’t a fan of the Leafs. I’m still not. It’s in my blood. So it’s a big bonus when you get two points against Toronto."
