  1. Been thinking this over a lot CDC...and I've determined there is nothing here for me anymore. I keep getting lambasted and ridiculed for promoting peace, love and understanding..and it's now gotten to the point where I feel sick every time I log in here. I am washing my hands of this place, as well as several other internet forums. Nothing's wrong with peace love and understanding. Namaste, and Farewell.

  4. For all the Sublime fans here...I offer this...see if you can't discern the influence. Slightly Stoopid are a great band...a great chill band...and in much the same vein as Sublime or the Long Beach Dub All-Stars
  5. A sad and tragic end to a promising young career. I hope he's found peace.
  6. The phrase "It doesn't matter whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game" was invented by the people who lost.

No it was invented by Ned Stark...oh wait.

  7. One Zen student said, "My teacher is the best. He can go days without eating." The second said, "My teacher has so much self-control, he can go days without sleep." The third said, "My teacher is so wise that he eats when he's hungry and sleeps when he's tired."

  8. Edward Snowden is my new hero. Sick of all the people here in the US who are still calling this man a traitor...he blew the whistle on unlawful practices...he exposed a crime...since when is exposing a crime a crime? Is tattletaling a crime now if it's tattling on the government? **** that. Snowden had the guts to expose the truth even at the cost of his own freedom. He is a hero.

I agree. The amount of freedoms the American citizenry were willing to forefeit in the name of "the war on terror" shortly after 9/11/01 is absolutely frightenning. Good on Snowden for shining a light on these atrocious espionage practices.

  9. If I had the money...for a train ride...I would be in New York on the 21st of June. Check this out: EC F***in' W!

  11. Really taking the "Punk" part of his name pretty seriously...what a thrill that must have been for both Punk and Rancid. Good band...Lars Fredriksen is one hell of a ska/punk guitarist....Have all their albums. Gotta say I am disappointed hearing that Cult of Personality has been scrapped...but maybe the WWE figured more people would know who Rancid is than Living Colour..although I kinda doubt that. I'm glad to know they are touring again though, Rancid..might have to check the tour dates. Thanks man.
  12. Hey man. totally agree on most of what you said with the major agreement being they made a huge mistake letting Raven go but before that humiliating him by sticking him on Sunday Night Heat. Also wasn't pleased with the way they treated Tazz but that's another rant for another time. Raven is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time mostly because it was through his t-shirts and a little research I discovered the Sandman comic books which became my favorite comic books. Huge Flash fan too but nothing comes close to Sandman for me. anyway, I digress. Dreamer is in good standing with the WWE. He and Joey and RVD and Heyman were all present at this year's Hall of Fame Ceremony. He does not work for them though. He's a regular on the independent circuit and pretty much goes wherever he's needed...guy just loves to wrestle.
  13. I enjoyed the conversation...it's cool to get different viewpoints on things sometimes. for the record, Dreamer is 42 now and continues to work for various independent promotions...I don't think he'll be hanging it up anytime soon. He just loves to wrestle. Perhaps it's the Terry Funk influence, or the fact that Funk mentored Dreamer during the Hardcore Legend's stints in ECW...but I don't think Dreamer is done yet..not by a VERY long shot.
  14. Cmon man...do you not remember that whole Collin Delaney nonsense? Scrapping the Hardcore belt was the worst thing WWE ever did in my opinion...and Dreamer had more talent..more innovation..more heart in him than half the wrestlers on the roster when he was forced to "retire". If the WWE had had an ounce of dignity they would have re-signed him. But whatever, past is past..it's over now and done with. Sandman WAS disrespected in TNA. I never said he wasn't. Sandman's character...you shave him bald...put a vest on him, give him a goatee a knee brace and take away the Singapore Cane...then give him Mikey Whipwreck's finishing move- Voila..Stone Cold Steve Austin. And since Sandman was doing his schtick LONG before Stunning steve Austin became Stone Cold Steve austin...ironically enough after Austin had misappropriated the Whipper Snapper after losing to Mikey and Sandman in 95 at December to Dismember when Sandman won the ECW title...it seems to me like Austin is merely a hybrid of Whipwreck and Sandman, just as Ryback is merely a hybrid of the War Machine Rhino and Goldberg.
  15. BTW, I already knew about that, but thanks. And crappy is your opinion. Your WWE bias is staggering. I watch TNA more often than WWE and I will admit it's because I'm an ECW guy and Taz, the Dudleys, RVD if he'll ever put down the bong..not that there's anything wrong with that but still...I gotta admit it's great seeing them wrestle...hell I even try to catch ROH to see what Rhino's up to...Steve Corino, etc...WWE it seems to me is more about entertainment than wrestling..and I just am more of a fan of wrestling. Raw went to 3 hours and it's the same old crap, again and again, social media hawking, and replays. Booorriiiing.
  16. 1. I didn't argue that Styles is the face of TNA. 2. Your blaming of RVD and Sabu for the collapse of an entire company is STUPID. It's stupid. And that doesn't explain why they felt it necessary to disrespect other guys like Sandman and Dreamer. That explanation is for the birds. Vince is a power-mad tyrant who was scared to death of a little competition and then when he took over said competition he naturally made it a laughingstock and probably enjoyed crushing them under his feet.
  17. And honestly I could never get behind a wrestling promotion that John Cena is the face of. I absolutely cannot stand John Cena.
  18. The WWE has completely mismanaged Kane...turned him from a big scary monster who could have been a dominant force had they pushed him enough into a goofball who seems to only have tag team gold...if even that again...in his future. That was strike one for me. They have totally disrespected Kane and I wasn't pleased with that. They are doing almost the same thing to Randy Orton, who for my money is the best wrestler in that company. They've softened him up and he's not so menacing anymore...he used to be cold, calculating, had no allies (obviously I'm talking about the post Evolution Orton and Legacy really didn't make enough of an impression to warrant inclusion in my example) and now they've seemingly turned him face...ok maybe not completely face but he sure as hell isn't a heel...which is what he was good at. They did the ECW dirty...Tommy Dreamer, one of the most diligent, hard working wrestlers I have ever had the privilege to see wrestle at a live event, Sabu, Sandman, RVD to a lesser extent...they showed these guys ZERO respect and then their campy BS watered down version of ECW on Tuesday nights made me vomit. I'm going to guess TS that you have never seen TNA live...at a house event...because if you had...I think you'd have a bit of a different view on their entertainment value. I caught one of their Charlotte shows a few years back...and that thing was a party from the moment we arrived at the coliseum. WWE may have "changed with the times" your words, not mine...but it certainly hasn't been for the better. I grew up with Smoky Mountain Wrestling. I used to watch wrestling shows on Saturday mornings...both WCW and WWF on a little black and white television set...I was a die-hard WWF fan for many many years...then I discovered ECW...and I guess I'm just the type of guy to root for the underdogs. I knew there was "no chance in hell" the ECW would ever last forever...but I'm gonna be honest I miss it. I miss Joey Styles on commentary...I miss Joel Gertner's narcissism...I miss the Damn Dudleys...I miss Perry Saturn, the late John Kronus, New Jack, Mustapha, hell I even miss CYRUS...these guys put their heart and soul on the line every night..and they weren't doing it for the money...they were doing it because they loved doing what they did. Just to hear Bill Alfonso's annoying whistle again...and my GOD has anyone seen the photo spread (spread being the key word) that Beulah did? I cannot post the link because it certainly is NSFW but google "Beulah McGillicutty pixotna" turn your safe search off and click images. TS I respect you and you're one of my buds but calling TNA minor league is just asinine.
  19. I'm sorry...do you have anything useful to add to the discussion or are you just a WWE apologist that can't see the forest for the trees and that being that the WWE sucks now. It's boring, trite, rehashed, PG rated family friendly kiddie bubblegum GARBAGE. At least TNA gives more of a crap about the WRESTLING.
  20. I'd go so far as to say top 5 in the WWE. I don't know if many of you here in this thread watch or keep up with Ring of Honor but Kenny King and Rhett Titus had a hellacious, epic tag team all out brawl with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas at Best in The World 2012 last year that had so many jaw dropping moments...it was easily one of the best tag team matches I've ever seen from any promotion. Simply unbelievable.
  21. I'm with you SK. Raw is an ordeal nearly every Monday night and I agree with your assessment. Kenny King is a phenomenal athlete and even though I'm a huge RVD fan I give the guy credit in the match he took the title away from RVD he was fantastic. He and York I thought would have a nice little rivalry there..but that never really materialized. I was a WWE fan for the longest time then like you I noticed the product begin to get stale. It's gotten incredibly trite and boring and I find myself watching wrestling DVDs more than Raw and Smackdown anymore.
  22. I'll second Styles but Aries is a very close second followed by Roode.
  23. Heres hoping they hire Tortorella. He just may be the swift kick in the ass this team needs to start being accountable for themselves and their at times lazy and lackadaisical play...and just the thought of the battles with the media has me licking my chops. He's won a Cup, and he takes no ****. How could this possibly be a bad idea

The thing I love about Torts is his disdain for the media. I would love to see him tear guys like the Crypt keep and Ed "What you talking about?" Wills a new one.

  24. ESPN...would you please...please shut the hell up about Tim Tebow. He had one fluke season and now everyone's on his jock. He's a media circus...a sideshow..not a football player. Can you please find someone else to obsess over before I vomit my guts out. Thank you.
