  1. I believe the goal 2-3 players who play 200+ games
  2. Mottes determination is pretty inspiring. His willingness to sacrifice his body for the team is unreal.
  3. We got the better end of the calls game 1 Blues complained to the league and they go the better end tonight. Game 3 should be called even up boys show up ready and I like our chances
  4. Bo knows farming Bo knows parenting Bo knows dangles Bo knows playoffs Bo knows OT Bo knows winning!
  5. Keep using our speed put their d in tough spots draw penalties and make em pay on the PP! Let’s go!
  6. Optimist might say if our forward lines have more to give than game 1 and we are the ones leading the series that’s a great spot to be and build off of from game 1 to game 2
  7. If you don’t scorch the earth like Toronto, buffalo and Edmonton you are doing it wrong.
  8. It’s what makes the series so intriguing, they have more beef in their lineup but we are faster. Road runner always wins right? one thing I’ll say is we need to make sure Schwartz and Tarasenko are absorbing as much punishments as Petey and Hughes. We have guys capable of making good clean hockey hits against those guys.
  9. I spend a lot of time around here and don’t recall too much chatter about trading Bo. Now that we are out of that ditch how about our depth and speed. We have some guys that will abuse that Faulk and Dunn pairing. Can’t wait for game 2!
  10. You have to win four series to win the cup presumably against tougher competition each round. No free lunch for anyone in the nhl playoffs.
  11. Is their any tool that shows league wide cap space for 2020-2021. I’m thinking some of the medium tier ufa players are going to be taking either lower amounts for term or lots signing 1 year deals until things open up following the expansion draft.
  12. That’s always the parallel I thought of given Murray’s injury troubles in the First few years after he was drafted.
  13. No matter which way this went the play in series clearly showed drafting number 1 does nothing for you without a complete roster. Typical season will have atleast 25 players used by each team. Roster depth is so critical to winning a cup and before that playoff success.
  14. I think this is a great test for the Canucks with the goal being knocking off the defending Stanley cup champs. curious to see how hungry the blues are having reached the top of the mountain last year and with the unusual break in the season.
  15. Last night on Sportsnet they showed off this graphic that the leafs have not won a series since 2004. It prompted a funny memory. As a longtime leaf hater I was really rooting for the sens in that series and had a bit of an angry tirade when the leafs won the deciding game. I was living in an apartment at the time and my girlfriend who is now my wife suggested we go grab an ice cream to which I agreed. When we got back in some sort of sugar induced euphoria my wife decided she should show off her dance moves which involved kicking her feet high in the air. She landed funny on one and said I think I broke my foot to which I was like no way you broke your foot and sure as sh*t she did. The next day one of our neighbours saw her limping down the stairs and stopped her to make sure she wasn’t being abused after hearing a bunch of yelling the night before. When they showed the highlights of the 2004 game we both were laughing at how long it’s been since the leafs won a playoff series.
  16. Leafs are in a tough situation all of the guys that would bring back a top pairing shutdown d are high priced. Even if you pursued that direction I don’t think you would do well on a trade. Others have raised the one guy that would garner a top flight d would be Matthews and you can’t even consider that. Maybe if you could get one of the Norris finalists. I’m sure most would agree Nylander is the likely trade piece but ask yourself this on a team that is going to be a cup contender is he the top dog.... certainly not he’s probably not your second best forward so at his cap hit are you getting a 1st pairing d or a second pairing d. Good luck Kyle.
  17. Do we know when the next round starts!
  18. They have some great young players. If they can bring a manager in who can add the right complimentary pieces they could be a real contender. Tough sledding in the Atlantic division.
  19. Based on what I’ve seen with Barrie he would be redundant in Vancouver pp2 at best. Needs to go to a team where he’s the main offensive dman. Everyone would love a Seth jones, petriangelo doughty type dman just very difficult to obtain.
  20. Toronto’s scouting department must have had an internal bias against grit. It’s like you can’t be both skilled and gritty. You look at their roster who’s going to score a greasy goal or go through somebody to get to the net. Even the trades they made. Like Barrie is a quality defender but plays the same role as Reilly. It appeared obvious to me that they needed more of a shutdown d but they fill up the team like a fantasy hockey team. They may yet win the series but they need a much different complimentary cast before they are any sort of cup contender.
  21. Watching the 3rd and it that looked like a regular season game compared to canucks wild which looked like prison rules
  22. Team hasn’t been super sharp today but is well positioned for the third let’s go boys!
