  1. What do you want the 2 points for? This team isn't winning anything this year, I'll gladly eat my words if we win a cup but let's be real. There are other teams out there that are also fighting for a playoff spot and have games in hand, many teams are also catching fire like the Jets. At this point getting wins is really hurting this team instead of helping it. You don't just take the best goaltender in Canucks history and put him on the bench for one of the biggest regular season games in Canucks history (I'm saying that based on venue and seating capacity).
  2. Are you ignorant or stupid? This team has been a freaking soap opera for the past 3 years now, ever since the 2011 SCF a player has wanted out every single year. Cody Hodgson, Roberto Luongo, and now possibly Ryan Kesler. If this trend keeps continuing, then we will become the Florida Panthers of the West. We will be a team where many of our players will be NHL cast offs mixed with rookies. I am honestly sick of the way management has been running things, they started off amazing there is no doubt about that but since 2011 everything has been going down. The one thing that this team has been doing consistently is failing.
  3. You need to shut down your computer and not comment. At the beginning of the year Luongo was told he was the guy, Tortorella kept on saying again and again. Now the fact that the team sucks, is it Luo's fault? Goaltending has not at all been an issue this season, it has alternated between the offense and defense. It doesn't matter if Eddie Lack is on a hot streak because he's the back up and Luongo hasn't played in about 2 weeks, also the Canucks lost against the Wild. The way this organization has been treating their players as of late and all the drama that seems to constantly be surrounding this team is a huge nuisance. I hope that either Gillis is fired or our best players leave because they don't deserve this kind of treatment.
  4. I don't believe that Kes asked for a trade, I would only trade him for a Kings Ransom if it's true. A top 6 forward or top 4 defenseman, prospect, and 2015 1st round pick. Other wise I would deal him for a young proven player like PK Subban or Evander Kane.
  5. Fruitvale Station- 9/10 This movie is really good, Michael B. Jordan with an amazing performance.
  6. The women's games were pretty much run and gun hockey, it was some fast paced stuff. I never even said that the men's game wasn't exciting, the difference between the gold medal games was that I knew after Crosby scored that Canada had it won. In the women's game however it was a nail biter, Sochi 2014 was really the complete opposite of Vancouver 2010. The men's games were good, I was just saying by comparison to the women's they were less exciting.
  7. I'm going to say that the men's games were nothing compared to the women's games. In all honesty, I thought every game that the women's team played was way more exciting than the men's games (especially the gold medal games). It's just awesome though that we have 2 back to back Gold medal winning hockey teams.
  8. Tired Luongo, Hamhuis, Kesler, Sedin, Edler, Weber, and Diaz. Injured Bieksa, Tanev, and Burrows. Canucks lose, even though Blues have a couple tired guys also.
  9. It's a beautiful snowy GOLDEN Sunday here in Abbotsford. It truly is a great day!
  10. Your welcome guys! Everytime I had my Canada jersey on the USA scored, but ever since I stopped wearing it and watched the games Canada has been the only team to score.
  11. If you are a Canucks fan, you know what it's like to feel like the US team. I just really hope the men's team comes through and beats down USA tomorrow. Back to back wins over the US would be awesome, then Canada can focus on Sunday.
  12. Holy sh*t! What a game, I just leaped out my seat and went wild. GOOOOLLLLLDDDD!!!! If this doesn't pump up the men's team, then nothing will.
  13. Ward frustrates the hell out of me, she makes these random nonsense plays it seems like. I also hate how Canada is pretty much helping USA kill the clock when they cycle back into their own zone, instead of just pushing forward.
  14. My line up vs USA would be: Benn-Crosby-Nash Marleau-Toews-St. Louis Carter-Getzlaf-Perry Sharp-Duchene-Bergeron Kunitz Keith-Weber Hamhuis-Doughty Vlasic-Pieterangelo I don't know why but whenever I see Jay-Bo on the ice I start to panic a little. I just don't feel comfortable with him and trust Hamhuis more at the moment.
  15. Carrie (2013)- 8/10 This movie was way better than I expected it to be, haven't seen the original and don't care for it. Chloe Moretz is always awesome, everytime I see her I think Hit Girl. Also Julianne Moore was really good, she freaked me out.
  16. Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon (3D)- 7.5/10 Just as good as the first, but with a way more epic ending. If only the movie didn't drop in the middle for a little bit, it would have been way better. Dallas Buyers Club- 8.5/10 What a crazy story, great film. Great acting by everyone, Matt and Jared looked dangerously skinny.
  17. I don't think what Doug is saying will be likely to happen, but if what he is saying is true then my guess on an out of the box player would be... Higgins Hansen Jensen Richardson Gaunce Garrison Hamhuis Tanev Corrado Lack
  18. Canada just got the Bronze in women's short track speed skating 3000m relay, they didn't have to do anything as Italy wiped so Bronze was guaranteed for Canada. As I type this China got a DQ. CANADA GETS THE SILVER!!
  19. What the hell is going on?! The Canadians keep going down today.
  20. What feisty game between Canada and US, this is awesome. Are there going to be GDT's for the hockey games? Just like we do for Canucks games, or is that a no go?
  21. Yup I just looked at the first 3 and assumed the rest would be wrong, but when you assume you make an ass out of yourself and I did.
  22. Hey, I turn waivers off when I play NHL alright. You do know TWD means two-way defenseman, right? Have you not seen how each defenseman has changed the way they play since the finals, or am I the only one? Edler (offense)- Ohlund (defense) Edler (defense)- Ehrhoff (offense) Edler (offense) - Salo (two-way, primary defense) Edler (two-way) - Bieksa (two-way) Edler (two-way) - Garrison (two-way) Tell me where Edlers play dropped off there, one would realize when he played the position more like two-way defenseman. We all saw how horrendous the Edler-Bieksa pairing was and how Edler-Garrison didn't really work well. A top 4 can't consist of 4 defenseman who play a two-way system. Your top 6 should consist of 3 defensive, 2 two-way and 1 offensive. The pairings are usually as follows: Offensive - Defensive Two-Way - Defensive Defensive - Two-Way Whatever way you want to pair them the top 4 should always consist of 1 offensive and 1 two-way defenseman. Defensive defenseman are the most important part on the back end, because you know they can shut down the opposition and will be there to back you up if you get caught up the ice. We still have some great defenseman on this team, top 4 is solid only if they are allowed to play the way they like best. Garrison is the one I want to trade because he is trying to be someone that he is not which is a two-way defenseman, while Edler is being forced to play that role on account of the fact we lost Ehrhoff. Now think about how great this team would be if they played their roles to a tee. Hamhuis (DFD) - Bieksa (TWD) Edler (OFD) - Garrison (DFD) Stanton (TWD) - Tanev (DFD) You could even sign a RHD who plays a DFD role and put on a pairing with Edler. Doing that would allow you to put Garrison on his natural left side and then you could transition Tanev into more of a two-way defenseman. Same could be done by signing a RHD who plays more of an offensive game, except then you would have Edler play a more defensive role and Tanev would still transition into a two-way defenseman. Now if the coaches and management had each player on defense play a certain role, I guarantee we would be much better and the GF:GA ratio would be way better also. The offense is a whole different story, those guys just can't score enough. The problems on offense are blatantly obvious and everyone knows what is needed there.
  23. First of all Mike Gillis is an idiot if any if this is true. To continue, I'm pretty sure Detroit already said they aren't willing to part with their young players because they will be taking over in the future. Moulson, Vanek, and Gaborik are all going to be UFA's at years end and Gillis said he won't be going after any rental players. I know he said that if he has a good chance at re-signing the player a deal could work, but you can literally say that with any rental player. I also don't understand this massive hate for Alex Edler, he is a good player having a hard time. He has been scoring in his own net (accidentally*) as of late but so did Hamhuis, Garrison, and Bieksa. Dan Hamhuis hasn't been amazing since last season, Kevin Bieksa is starting to look like he is dropping off somewhat, and Jason Garrison has been all kinds of bad since he got here. Every player has had their good moments, but I have to say the most useless defenseman is Jason Garrison. Jason Garrison is not that physical, he doesn't put up those great offensive points, he has bad position many times, he is notorious for screening his own goalies, he many times gets out the way of a shot, and he gets caught chasing players in his own zone. He still has a cannon of a shot, he can make a nice pass, when he has the puck (in own zone) he gets it out, and he is a big guy. Overall, I'm going to say Edler is better than Garrison and that we should trade Garrison. This management team is stupid because they are trying to make all of our defenseman into TWD, which makes no sense. Dan Hamhuis was an awesome DFD, but after the Finals the Canucks tried to push him and make him a TWD which hasn't worked well. Kevin Bieksa is a natural TWD so he fits that position well, especially on the right side. Alex Edler is NOT, at all, a TWD. He can be a great OFD or DFD, but he cannot play a two-way game that's why he's having problems. Jason Garrison used to be a DFD, but then became a TWD. He played better when he was a DFD with a guy like Brian Campbell that's what got him his success. I would say what the Canucks NEED is a 1st line scorer (obvious), 2nd line playmaker, and a top 4 DFD or OFD. These type of players are not easy to get, we will have to give up a nice piece for one of those players but it is what the team is lacking.
