  1. I hope refs don't review first half highlights during intermissions. Because if they do, I think there's a good chance Seattle gets a penalty kick in the second half.
  2. Yep, it's on the Whitecaps website so it's offical: http://www.whitecapsfc.com/post/2016/03/14/whitecaps-fc-trade-darren-mattocks-portland-timbers Frustrating player. Seemed to have talent and speed yet couldn't seem to put it all together. What are the odds he figures it out in Portland and scores 25 goals this year?
  3. No need to panic just yet. I see Montreal beat the Red Bulls 3-0 on Sunday. The Impact might be a very good team - the home opener loss to them might be explainable. Kansas is a good team - especially at home. Looking ahead, the Caps play the Sounders next week in Seattle. Never an easy match to win. Then they play Houston, who have scored eight goals in their first two games, drawing one and winning one. And then the Caps play the Galaxy at home. It's a bitch of an opening schedule. Conceivably, the Caps could be 0-5 to start the season and yet each loss would be understandable and they still could prove to be a good team.
  4. Hopefully they got one in Andrew Jackson. The Caps picked him up yesterday from NYCFC. http://www.whitecapsfc.com/post/2016/03/11/jacobson-perfect-move
  5. May just be a rumour but there's a report on the MLS website that Mattocks has been traded to Portland. No word on who would be coming to the Caps. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/03/12/report-portland-land-forward-darren-mattocks-trade-vancouver
  6. THANKFULLY Jerry seems to have tempered his infatuation with Manziel. http://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/981289
  7. And in their busy free-agent frenzy, the Dallas Cowboys have re-signed Rolando McClain to a one year deal. Sigh.
  8. At least Rivero's shots were closer to the mark this game than they were last season when he would stumble and fumble when he had a clear shot, which frustrated Caps fans everywhere, including me. That shot that hit the crossbar would have been a sensational goal had the ball been six inches lower. And he made a nice header that needed a good save by the Montreal goalie. I'm prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope that he might start coming through with some goals this season. I reserve the right to change my opinion.
  9. Didn't think it was Ousted's best game ever. Montreal shredded the Caps defence a couple of times. But it's one game. And it was an entertaining one, at that.
  10. But to make up two games with only eleven games remaining? I dunno. Leicester shows no sign of slowing down. A very disappointing performance today.
  11. From the back it looks like the player is wearing a vest.
  12. That's how I feel. If the Cowboys aren't in the Superbowl I don't much care who wins, just give me an exciting game. (I haven't cared who wins in a Superbowl game in a looooonnng time).
  13. Seconded. The Caps have a good goalie. They have a good defence. They have an adequate midfield. But they have to get a legitimate scorer (or two).
  14. I find it remarkable that the Caps were able to finish second in the West. They scored eight (8!) goals in their last nine games. And that includes the three they scored today. I suppose the other teams (other than Dallas) were stumbling throughout the season as well. But what the heck..........................GO CAPS!!!!
  15. Go to the NCAA football website: http://www.ncaa.com/sports/football Click on Division II. Apparently they lost to Western Oregon 31 - 14.
  16. The better team won. But, really, neither team was very good.
  17. Yawn. Lions are lucky to be only losing by 2 at the half.
  18. So glad I switched over and watched the Whitecaps game instead. No....wait.....no I'm not!
  19. And Rivero just isn't getting it done as an ordinary player let alone a designated player.
  20. There's a sports triactor you don't want to see: Blue Jays lose, Lions get thumped and the Caps blow a two goal lead in the last fifteen minutes. Sheesh!
  21. We should get a better idea of how good this team is after the next two games - Kansas and Dallas. Both are pretty good teams.
  22. I was listening to the radio broadcast while watching a football game and they said RSL had left a lot of their starters at home. Apparently RSL is really trying to win their CCL games. (And it shows......4-0)
  23. Which is a major reason I can't take the CFL seriously. I mean, why bother watching these games or getting worked up about them if they don't mean all that much. (Well, actually I know why I watch them. It gives me my football fix until the NFL starts.)
