[Trade] VAN Dale Weise to MTL
Noseforthenet replied to Strombone1's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It just gives more flexibility. He basically has a 4 game try out here, before the break. Weise is a productive 4th liner, but he has too many other deficiencies. The one thing I will miss about Weise is he is becoming that type of player that other teams hate. The one that gets under your skin. Considering he doesn't get much playing time under Torts anyways, my statement stands. He will make it in the lineup over Weber and Alberts is a left sided dman, so it makes no difference. Bieksa and Tanev, no, but there is another trade coming when everybody is healthy. Probably one already in the works. This move will just make more people call. Probably about Tanev. -

lol, that's not what I saw. Gryba was right there. Eller had his eyes on the puck. Gryba was going to hit him anyways and anticipated the pass was going to Eller. Good anticipation, but had Eller not turned to carry the puck, he wouldn't have gotten hit in the head and a powerplay would have been the result, without injury. Diaz would have seen Gryba coming and passed it to Eller anyways. Not cool, either way. As long as he doesn't do that here, he will be a welcome addition. -

I find it hilarious that your name on here is Tortorella's Rant and this is something that Torts wouldn't even lose sleep over. -

Right now, I don't even really care if Diaz is or isn't all that great in his own end. This team needs to score more goals. If he can help kickstand that back end, I will be smiling! -

Thinking this is more a precursor to another Montreal trade and they needed another 500k off the books. Our d depth is hurting. Weise has been available for almost two months and Montreal didn't bite then. So why now? -

I am good with this as long as he doesn't try to make passes leading to this... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eJlbHUCuT74 This was quite irresponsible. He lined his own player up for the hit!!! -
[Lebrun Speculation] Canucks Ready for Re-tool

Lol @ all of you saying Hansen is not worth a 1st. Very reasonable cap hit for 4 more years after this. Definitive 3rd line winger with wheels, good for 30-40 points. Why are we even questioning this?! A mid to late round 1st most of the time won't be playing consistent minutes with the big club until 4 or 5 years after they have been drafted. See Jensen, Schroeder, Gaunce. And that's just the Canucks. Ya think a club is willing to pay that for a player who they have for 4 more years at 2.5 and will pot that many points, is defensively responsible and quick in their own zone. PUHlease. Tell me another joke!!! Also, Kesler. If he gets traded for depth, the only team I am calling is Philidelphia for Couturier and other pieces. You don't just trade a defensive specialist like that for just anybody. Kesler is the second best pker in the league. Couturier is #1. If we get that defensive specialist, we can have a second scoring center. -
I am gonna call it the Django theory. We don't wanna get rid of the first best prospect, or the second. The third, we don't want to either, but if an offer comes this way in which we can't refuse, we will gladly see it through. I am more in the boat of trading the redundant players and open the gates for the youth next year. If the right deal comes up for a top prospect, of course it will be considered. And for everyone else thinking the Detroit model works still...nope. Not really. I think we all saw Brandon Saad last night. Sometimes you gotta learn to run before you can walk.

I am really surprised with how many people are still wanting to trade away assets for a crack at the cup this season. 15 Mil in cap space (including Booth buy out) to sign 7 players. And only Kassian, Schroeder,Dalpe, Santorelli and Tanev being the big fish to handle on our end. Lots could happen before season's end, but I have to guess that Dalpe will be gone, Santorelli is Touch and go for next season, I imagine. With Horvat, Schroeder and Gaunce vying for center spots, the best I can see Santorelli being is a utility guy. He obviously isn't going to be signed as a top 6 forward. If he is, this team is in trouble! Kassian's salary won't breach 2 mil and Tanev or one of the top 4 we currently have will be gone, so there's a spot for Corrado either way. sedin-sedin-? Burr-Kes-Kass Higgins-?-Hansen ?-Richardson-? ? Hammer-Bieksa Eddie-Garry Stanton-Tanev/Corrado ?-? Assuming it's going to take about 7 mil to take care of the question mark slots (excluding the one beside the Sedins) and Kassian, that leaves the team with 8 million to spend!!! That's where we stand right now...Umm, yep, let's wait to spend the awesome accumulated young assets until next season. Because THAT is when you spend them! This team will be so freaking stacked. Fill the gaps next season, MG!!!!

Change Needed!-Aquilini's Please Fire Gillis!
Noseforthenet replied to Ricciuti1's topic in Canucks Talk
They will get over a PPG again. Just need a swift skating puck mover. The threats off the rush they used to score on are non existent because no one is fast enough on the back end to rush the puck up. As soon as Ehrhoff left, they were PPG or less players. Coincidence? -

For everyone who watched the trade tracker...my god!!! Again with This! Andrew Ladd suggested to go to Vancouver, for...Bo Horvat, Hunter Shinkaruk, Brendan Gaunce. Jesus, WTF Lawton. Again with this?! Even Kyper thinks he's is crazy! I actually am starting to believe the suggestion that Cheveldayoff said something to the guys at Sportsnet.... Ugh!

For what it's worth, I see what Claiborne55 is saying, but it was definitely said in the wrong context. First off: I think that whole thing was missed where the other countries in the world have gotten much better at hockey. Finland was so staunch defensively, you could see the entire Canadian team get frustrated with them. It wasn't just Bo. The team didn't know what to do against the Fins. They kept all the shots to the outside and clogged up the slot area. There wasn't anybody getting a shot thru that defense. Second: Andrew Ladd has more intangibles that are worth trading for to have in the playoffs. I can see why he would want to trade for him and even include Bo...HOWEVER, TRADING BO IS THE LAST THING YOU DO BEFORE THE CUP RUN. This team still requires another top 6 and a swift skating puck mover AT LEAST!!! If those two are acquired, THEN it's okay to move Bo for a lesser return. Right now, it makes no sense. Make no mistake about it, Andrew Ladd is a guy you want on your team during playoff wars. He's that a$$#o/€ every team needs. Before acquiring that sort of player though, let's make sure we have the skill first. Third and finally: said skill mentioned in #2 is better off acquired in free agency. You know, that situation where MG is great at signing assets? When has he had 15 million (including Booth buyout) to sign 7 players?! Last time he had the money to get the assets needed, the team went to the cup. With this in mind, I am fine with waiting.

Especially since Meszaros played with Chara when they went to the cup with Ottawa.
