  1. 100% agree Edler>Gardiner but Edler is going to want way more than 2 years
  2. Except for it sets a precedent, I bet Edler’s agent now asked for >7 million
  3. He wont sign without a NMC or NTC at very least
  4. Guys that can’t keep up don't finish the league 7th in hits with only 13 minutes of ice time. If they can’t keep up and have no agility they never get contact, especially not 7th most in the league. Just because people keep saying he’s extremely slow doesn’t make it true. Is he slow than average? Yup, is it as bad as everyone says? Nope! #fakenews Lucic’s biggest problem is his acceleration not his speed
  5. For sure at least 6 mil if not more. Frankly the way our D is, i’d consider it
  6. He’s not a top pairing guy, we dont have a top pairing guy, we pretty much have to spread it around evenly
  7. Depends on the ask. I think Myers and Edler would make a good pairing without having to give up anything if he chooses us. Edler Myers Hughes Tanev Hutton Stetch Juolevi Biega Schenn
  8. Well if the agent is saying its best to move on, likely means he wants out. Trading him might be a harder option. Lucic though might make sense for both teams
  9. Would you rather keep a player and bring down the whole team or remove him from the dressing room and allow the rest of the players to be around players that want to be here. Best thing to do is cut off the wound.
  10. Not a big deal when we only have 3 players worth protecting. No way LE ever goes to Utica, same with Lucic, they will always have a role somewhere, sending LE down to Utica and then having his salary on the cap plus his replacement on the cap will never happen.
  11. Right the same contract plus one year, and a lot more valuable then keeping LE
  12. Corsi numbers support Lucic > LE; intangibles support Lucic. Would Matheson hit still occur? Maybe, but then Lucic would run over Barkov or Huberdeau etc. After a couple times, the players would stop. Much like how Wilson in Washington works or especially how Tootoo worked in Nashville. Is it worth Kassian running over Boeser if he knows Lucic will try to run over McDavid. Its not about fighting, that is out of the league, but revenge is another topic that still very much exists. You take out our guy, we’ll take out yours. Lucic will bring that. I never said Lucic is tough, yet he is tough, being tough and fighting again are very different things. Can Lucic take a beating and misses only Ike 3 games a year over his entire career. Can you say the same about Eriksson? Who plays a more physical injury prone game? Lucic, yet he’s durable and must play through a lot of aches and pains, that is toughness and he has it.
  13. Thats what happens with Joseph Smith craps in the river. In all seriousness hopefully they can stop the disaster
  14. I disagree. 7th in hits, better corsi stats, less ice time, better leadership, less whining. Eriksson gives us nothing we don’t already have, Lucic brings us everything we don’t have. Hands down Lucic makes us more complete. Does his contract suck? Oh yea it does, but so does Eriksson’s but Lucic gives us something unique where as Eriksson gives us more of the same.
  15. I know Corsi numbers aren’t the whole package, but Lucic has better Corsi’s and brings something this team is lacking.
  16. This isn’t the love in for Lucic, its about getting rid of a guy who isn’t passionate about hockey or the team in Eriksson. Adding Reeves still keeps us Eriksson unless you can find another team whom would want Eriksson’s anchor of a contract. Its really about trading one anchor or another and which anchor would you rather have. I’m all for Ryan Reeves but Eriksson has to go. If this is the only team that is willing to take Eriksson and they are willing to give up Lucic and a kicker, I think that makes us an overall better team in the long run.
  17. Facts don’t care about your feelings. Better than anything Eriksson highlight reel from his time in Vancouver but to be fair, here is a highlight from Eriksson best game this year against Florida WHO WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE?
  18. Not sure we should be even looking at Lucic’s productivity offensively for two reasons. 1.) he isn’t valued at all for his offensive ability 2.) Eriksson did nothing offensively in his entire time in Vancouver so Lucic isn’t even a step down. The question really is, whom makes the team more complete Eriksson or Lucic. Intangibles? Lucic wins, Corsi? Lucic wins, Years left on contract? Eriksson wins, Salary owed? Eriksson wins. Whom would rather be here and is excited to play in Vancouver? Lucic wins, Whom would be better for the development of our young players? Definitely not the excuse maker whom seems to hate hockey. Lucic wins hands down. You can’t make chicken salad from chicken crap, but Eriksson needs to go and I’d take any deal at this point. At least Lucic brings something we need.
  19. Good luck, yes Eriksson has a front loaded contract, no one is trading for him. Eriksson isn’t on our great defensive player. We have a team of defensive players. Lucic offers something to this team we don’t have. Corsi stats also show that Lucic is better than Eriksson, but I guess to you stats don’t matter. Facts don’t care about your feelings.
  20. Exactly, and at least this bum gives us something we don’t have, someone willing to hit. Tired of watching Peterson and Boeser get run at and no one doing anything about it.
  21. What does Eriksson do for 6 million? Less than Lucic. Eriksson was placed with the Sedins and contributed nothing being demoted to the 4th line. 1 incompetent player for another, the difference? Lucic is excited about Vancouver, Eriksson has given up, Lucic hits, Eriksson plays decently defensive. What is the benefit for the Canucks? We need players excited about Vancouver and we have enough players on the penalty kill. What don’t we have? Anyone who hits. Eriksson for Lucic is a win for Vancouver in 2 ways. He’s more excited to play in Vancouver than Eriksson and he brings at least one attribute to the team more than Eriksson. Is it ideal? Of course not. Does the team gain something over what we have now? Yes. Can we trade Eriksson for anything else in the league? NOPE!
  22. Whom finished 7th in the league in hits when no other Oiler beat him.
  23. Not like I’m worried about losing players to Seattle. Really we only need to protect Horvat, Peterson, Boeser and Hughes (I think he’s exempt). Whom else changes our team if we lose them? No one, everyone else is the same, replaceable.
