  1. What the &^@# is Travis smoking. Jake in OT over Hoglander? Jake looked &^@#ing horrible out there. My god
  2. Guys... I think Virtanen read my post on here or on Twitter... I said no one would say anything about Jake if he just played physical. I see him laying the body tonight! Either that or he saw my post about challenging Sutter for softest forward... Either way he's laying the boom tonight. Love it
  3. Hamonic hasn't looked great this game or in any for that matter. Both goals are caused by him making errors
  4. Nice physicality from Virtanen on Andersson at the end of the period. Good to see Jake!
  5. I can't wait until Sutter's contract expires. Sit that useless idiot. I can't &^@#ing take it anymore.
  6. Man watching that Beagle Sutter fourth line is brutal. Sutter is soooo soft my lord
  7. After the Canucks got a couple calls in the first I knew it was gonna be makeup city in the second
  8. Anyone else noticing the large amount of financial advisor commercials? Thanks Evander
  9. Love Hogs game! Juolevi looked good too on Leon at the end there. Kids are here to stay
  10. Super excited for Canucks hockey to be back! I'm really happy and excited to watch Hoglander. I feel like a lot (myself included) have forgotten Juolevi is actually in a top 6 role to start. Really looking forward to seeing him out there nightly, and I do believe as time goes on he will grow into the player we envisioned.
  11. Hoglander with the huge opportunity and I am here for it! LETS GO
  12. Any reason for the fight? All I saw was gloves go flying but didn't see what caused it
  13. It is honestly hard to tell if he's lost a step or not. This tourney he definitely looked slower but I think he was hurt. He was shaken up after a lot of plays and it appeared to be a lower body issue. He just didn't look to be skating in some games and that isn't the Podz we all know. More often than not as players gain weight they slow down slightly but it isn't very noticeable. But I think his best world juniors was his first one which is weird.
  14. Canucks finish 4th in the CDN division MTL, TOR and 1 Alberta team finishes ahead Demko proves he is the #1 (even tho I think he proved that in the playoffs, my opinion) Hoglander makes team, plays well. Fades out mid/late season has he has already played 23 games in Sweden. Juolevi plays steady and improves. Nothing flashy, just smart hockey good on PK MacEwen has solid offensive season 10+ goals playing on third line with Roussel and Gaudette Make playoffs and are the last standing team in Canada. Going to say Canucks vs MTL in the CDN final. Really hope we can stay healthy this season. In such a short heavy schedule, I hope they aren't afraid to rest guys here and there against teams like OTT and WPG. IMO every player should get 5 games off, its just too much hockey. We saw what happened in the bubble when they played every 2nd night. Canucks had nothing left. They were done. We need to keep guys fresh so they don't get hurt. Our taxi squad gonna be huge for us. Wouldn't be surprised to see load management like the NBA lol
  15. Up and down tourney for Podz. Still believe he was playing hurt but I guess we'll never fully know. A few things... 1) His skating looks fine to me. The only thing I notice sometimes is he glides and is kinda hunches over. I don't think he's tired maybe just trying to read the play? It's nothing major tho and can easily be worked on. He's got good top end speed once he gets there. 2) His leadership. Him rallying all the players and trying to find anything to spark the team speaks volumes about him. He will fit in great on this team and be a great teammate. 3) Point production. Its tough to say how well the offence will translate but one thing I'll say again is don't underestimate his playmaking. Let's be honest, Russia didn't have much talent up front outside of number #13, #9 and either #23 or #27 I believe (going off the top of my head). He definitely could have had 6-8 more assists than he had if his teammates had a bit more finish. Like Zegres had 12 assists I think? But look who he was playing with. My point is, it is hard to judge when he wasn't playing with other players with his talent level. Wait till get comes here and he's feeding JT,Petey,Boeser and Bo. Podz can also shoot tho too but I think he's more a pass first player, at least in this tourney he was. 4) Defensive play. He was on the ice for quite a few goals. A few him being out of position and a few by him missing blocking the shot. Now Russia's goalie did struggle so maybe that's why? Podz did block many shots (obviously you can't block them all). So in no way am I blaming him for that. At times it seemed maybe he was caught watching the play but also could have been he was tired and at the end of shift. Never from a lack of compete tho. Could have also been he was trying to cheat to create offence or compensate for another player being out of position. I don't feel it is anything to worry about but I did notice he was on the ice for many goals. 5) Overall this tourney means nothing. He was the ultimate captain and now his next big date is April 30th when he is eligible to sign in Vancouver. Benning has already stated he is getting him here ASAP. Podz will be a big addition to our team and our style of play. Travis is going to love this player. The points will come but I'm happy with this pick as Podz is a player I'd want to go out and battle with. I know he's going to leave it out there and in the playoffs he will help win you games and at the end of the day that is where you're going to see Podz real value. Is in the playoffs, in the game 7's.
  16. We most likely see Miller-Petey-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Gaudette Motte-Sutter-Virtanen Roussel-Beagle-MacEwen Edler-Schmidt Hughes-Hamonic Juolevi-Myers Demko Holtby Still want Hoglander to make it tho!
  17. Canada's D just tried to step up at the line to hit Pod's and he decked the guy. Think it was Harley maybe? whoever it was Pod's levelled him.
  18. What we will most likely see Miller-Pettersson-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Virtanen Roussel-Gaudette-Sutter Motte-Beagle-Eriksson (Yikes to that bottom six forward group) Hughes-Schmidt Edler-Hamonic Juolevi-Myers Holbty Demko VS What I would like to see Miller-Pettersson-Virtanen At least start Jake here, give him chance to "be the guy" not stuck on the fourth line to start. If anyone can get through to Jake on the team its Miller. Whenever Jake is on his line you better believe he will be all over him, making him accountable while coaching him. Hoglander-Horvat-Boeser This gives us 2 scoring lines not just having to rely on the top line to score. Horvat and Boeser have had chemistry in the past. Hoglander if he has a good camp deserves to be here. He'd arguably have the second best hands on the team after Petey. He's a motor player that will battle hard and think the O side of the game like Boeser and Horvat. They will be a legit threat, similar to the way Baertschi, Horvat and Boeser clicked a few seasons ago! The bottom six from here is really a $&!# show. Pearson,Roussel,Beagle,Sutter,Eriksson looks gross on paper. It'll probably be an unpopular decision but I'd like to see: Pearson-Gaudette-Hawryluk Pearson and Hawryluk bring great 2 way ability. Gaudette and Hawryluk have great speed. They can all chip in with offence, while being reliable in the D zone. Motte-Beagle-MacEwen Grind it out every shift line. They will out work you. MacEwen deserves to be on the team. Enough of this 13th forward crap. Sutter and Eriksson both have no future with the team once their contracts are up so stop playing them. Rousse had a Great first year then major knee injury. Maybe he just never got into sync but he didn't fight at all and just ran his mouth which I don't like. There is room for him but MacEwen needs to play. Figure it out Travis! Edler-Schmidt Hughes-Myers Juolevi-Hamonic Demko - Starter Holtby - Backup
  19. Watched the full game again tonight. Wow, Podz can really dish the puck. I said it a few pages back, get him with some trigger men and look out! I even said a few months ago put him with Petey and Miller and he will blossom and I stand behind that 100. He seems to so often just make the "right smart play" if you will. He constantly fights for the puck along the boards and most times comes out with the puck. Like his discipline this tourney, I know some are disappointed he isn't mixing it up and is pulling his guys out from the pile but this is the world juniors it isn't about rough stuff. In the NHL Podz isn't backing away he'll be right in there with his teammates. Right now it speaks to his maturity he is willing to let things go to help the team stay out of the box.
