  1. That strike out..throw em out has put a different spin on things.
  2. I like the look of this team..I dont think offence will be a problem this season..pitching Im not so sure of.
  3. Did I miss something..is Kassian back..I could see Matthias in or even Richardson but I think Kass is a long shot just now.
  4. Why do they stay with pitchers when they know they dont have it..Hutchinson was horrible today from the start..I guess eating up innings is more important than winning.
  5. Time to pull Hutch..they will lose if they leave him in..doesnt have it today..Jays score the runs..he gives them up. Its a good thing the Jays offence is rockin today.
  6. agree on Hutchinson..this outing is a little shakier than his 1st...yeah..I dont know what it is with Pillar..but he sure has learned how to play since his 1st call up last year.
  7. Jays off to a better start today..at least hitting the ball...I was looking at the early stats and Lind and Gose are hitting the cover off the ball in the early going..Lind is 9 for 17 going into todays play with 3 doubles,,4 rbis and a dinger...Gose is 9 for 20 with 5 rbis....I guess they just needed to be played more with confidence...would have been hard on this years Jays.
  8. Utica Comets 4 mins · Sven Baertschi has been reassigned to the ‪#‎Comets‬. Release: Thought he might stick around for the playoffs.
  9. You know you are in trouble when your pitching is bad and you cant get a hit.
  10. I guess I have to forgive and forget because he will be the centre fielder this year for the most part after Saunders returns...if he keeps up the great play it wont be hard,,but I just find him unlikeable..but he sure isnt a liability right now.
  11. I dont like Pillar..just a personal thing..maybe from last year when he flipped out in the dugout against Gibby about playing time and was sent down ..not sure..I just find him very unlikeable..but I have to say he is playing lights out..cant deny that..when Saunders is ready..Gibbons said they will go back to 7 pitchers,,which means they will keep Pompey up as well...counting Tolleson that will be 5 outfielders..until Izturis comes back I guess.
  12. He is supposed to be exciting..but he is a little small..5f/2i his nickname is the BUG...lol....we will be known as River Plate North
  13. Must be..not even dressing either. The Caps have such a wealth of young players you wonder how they will get any playing time..they have the Amway cup and the Concacaf league as well..but I dont know why the Caps want to play rookies and kids in that..you would think they would want to dress their best players.
  14. Saunders plays his first full game for Dunedin tomorrow..he should be back in about 3 weeks I would think..maybe less...on another note..Loup blew that game..he usually is pretty good at shut down.
  15. I thought Kah was bad tonight as well..pretty much responsible for the 1st goal against and quite a few blunders..dont know if it was because he came on early unprepared or what..I was wondering about Dean myself..this kid came with big credentials and we never see him..I think he must be playing for the Whitecaps2 in the USL...not sure..
  16. When Saunders returns and Izturus as well..it could mean some moves..I would think they would drop a pitcher and keep Pillar or Pompey on the bench...and either Tolleson or Izturus would have to go..they are both out of options and doubt either would get to the minors without being claimed. I guess they could escape that by sending Travis to the minors but that doesnt seem likely if the kid keeps playing well..why keep 2 over the hill infielders and dump a future starter..seems counter productive.
  17. Saunders should be ready soon..he is playing in double A right now but not running yet..or very little..want him in left or cehtre...never been a Pillar fan but he played welll today.
  18. one of the things I dont like about the MLS,,any good players leave and old players arrive...kind of like the CFL.
  19. Damn..you are right..I was thinking of 2012 and forgot that they did make the playoffs last year.....I agree that ownership has been great...but it just seems that the instability with coaching and lack of top end talent has caught up to them..this can all turn around of course and I hope it does before the fans tune them out completely..I have seen it with Junior hockey before in Vancouver...It just seems to me its taking awhile to get a strong competitive team on the ice...but thats maybe because I have seen them win it all.
  20. agreed..Jake wont be the only junior to go either..I doubt any will play for the Comets in the playoffs..but to be around and practice with the team goes a long way .
  21. Genie not getting Twitter love.... Bouchard had a rough go of it in her first match at the Miami Open Saturday. (Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports) There are those who love Canadian tennis star Genie Bouchard through wind and rain and stormy Miami nights. And there are those who denigrate her for her off-court popularity and all the hype that has surrounded her for more than a year, since her breakthrough performance in reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open in 2014. The Canadian's victories bring out the love from one corner and ... mostly silence from the other. Her defeats – and Saturday's loss to qualifier Tatjana Maria in Bouchard's match at the Miami Open was a tough one to take – bring out the same love, but even those boobirds who normally sit on the fence come out on the other side. It's almost like there are people out there who get joy out of her struggles. View gallery . It's not pretty out there in social-media land even if on Bouchard's own Twitter and Instagram accounts, all remains sunny and cheery. You have to hope she turned off her phone and went out to load up on tequila shots with her twin sister, who flew down from Montreal to cheer her on. View gallery . After all they are – as of a month ago – of age. Here are some of the comments in the wake of Bouchard's loss on Saturday (we've left out the ones with a little too much profanity - those typically come from the wagering contingent, those who bet big bucks on her to win the match and lost). The "too many off-court distractions", "overrated hype" and "parties rather than practices" posse: View gallery . View gallery . View gallery . View gallery .
  22. becoming the cardiac kids..these last second wins are taking it out of me..lol,,another win against the flow of play.
  23. Tend to agree..but the Jays may have got a starting 2nd baseman out of the trade for Gose..Devon Travis may have won the job.
  24. if it works out..its a good thing..4 pitchers 21 and under.is relatively unheard of.
