  1. A-Rod getting no love from Joe Giradi..turns down A-Rods request to play 3rd base in his last game friday.... Joe Girardi says "my job description does not entail a farewell tour." Derek Jeter's 2014 begs to differ.
  2. A man went into the pet shop I am playing Long John Silver in the local amateur dramatic societies version of Treasure Island and need a parrot to sit on my shoulder he said. I don't have any parrots at the moment, but you wouldn't want a real parrot for that. It would squawk in all the wrong places, poop on your shoulder and generally be a nuisance. What you need is a stuffed parrot. Just as realistic and easily controlled. I'm not sure a stuffed parrot would be okay said the customer. I do want this performance to be as realistic as possible. I am sure a stuffed parrot would be fine said the pet shop owner. I have one at home. I'll bring it in and if you come back on Thursday you can have it. Sorry said the customer I can't make it on Thursday. That's the day I'm having my leg cut off.
  3. its pretty rough when Im complaining and the team is actually in first place...not complaining to much about the team as a whole per se...more about a few players cutting down on the SOs and contributing a little more...be nice to see them firing on all cylanders..if that ever happens.
  4. Thats exactly where I am with him..he was hitting so well and now he cant get on base unless its a walk...he has been sitting at 19 HRs for over a month now...I dont know why his at bats have gone south so bad...3 more SOs tonight..he must be pushing 40 in the last 22 games and his batting average has fallen like a rock..he was hitting over 300 at the allstar break...now he is under 270.
  5. some of the bats have woken up...certainly not not Saunders or Smoaks.
  6. This kid has thrown a lot of pitches for TB..he will be out of the game early at this rate...although I would like to see him stay..lol
  7. Travis is becoming an automatic base hit..they guy is on a tear
  8. Saunders SOs are through the roof..Im finding it hard with this guy now...I like him but his at bats are so futile lately its unreal.
  9. Cant wait till Lake arrives...Gibbons will probably have Lake...Upton and Barney in the OF...cant go more than a game without putting Barney in somewhere.
  10. Damn..JB on the DL along with Pillar..not a great time for all these injuries especially when the team is hitting poorly.... TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays placed right-fielder Jose Bautista on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a left knee sprain. Outfielder Junior Lake had his contract selected from triple-A Buffalo to take Bautista's spot on Toronto's roster. The 35-year-old Bautista is in the final year of his contract with the Blue Jays. He's hitting .222 this season with 15 home runs and 48 runs batted in over 80 games. Bautista missed six weeks with an injury to his left big toe this season and served a one-game suspension after a bench-clearing brawl with the Texas Rangers. An all-star for six consecutive years — 2010 to 2015 — Bautista has 301 career homers, 841 RBIs and a .255 batting average over 13 major league seasons. Lake has a .206 average with a home run and two RBIs in 34 at bats with Toronto this season. He hit .238 with six homers and 31 RBIs with Buffalo this year.
  11. I remember seeing the Barenaked Ladies busking at the PNE before they made it big...about 88-89.....who would know what they would become.....I also think they were better with Steven Page in the group..he had/has a great voice.
  12. they are not clicking on all cylanders since the trade deadline
  13. You have got to be kidding..bases loaded and no one out and they left them juiced...well..back to the olympics...nothing to see here.
  14. Pillar on the DL with Carrera....all this stuff hitting at the wrong time. The Toronto Blue Jays placed outfielder Kevin Pillar on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a left thumb sprain. Toronto also recalled outfielder Darrell Ceciliani from Triple-A Buffalo. Pillar, 27, has appeared in 109 games this season, hitting .261 with 36 extra base hits, including seven home runs. He also has 45 runs-batted in. Ceciliani is hitting .268 with Buffalo with nine homers and 32 RBIs.
