  5. A young businessman had just started his own firm. He'd rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with antiques. Sitting there, he saw a man come into the outer office. Wishing to appear busy, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal working. He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments. Finally, he hung up and asked the visitor "Can I help you?" The man said "Sure. I've come to install the phone!"

  10. The singer songwriter Peter Sarstedt has died aged 75 after a six year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. I haven’t heard his song, « Where Do You Go To My Lovely » for years... I was lucky to have been a teenager during one of the most wonderful musical periods ever. Perhaps because there were so many great songs, Peter Sarstedt’s got forgotten, swamped by sheer numbers. I listened again to it tonight. The words are were so true for then. Even Juan les Pins, where we holidayed in the 50s and 60’s, was where « this lady went ». It’s a sad song but beautiful......nice tribute..thought I would post it. RIP Peter
  11. Elvis would of been 82 today..wtitten by Buffy St.Marie
  12. As much as I like him ...he turned me off last season with his futile at bats and SOs....don't think I could sit through that again...even if the Jays brought him back I could see him sitting a lot. If he had maintaine the first half he would of been resigned in a hurry...but he fell off the face of the earth.
  13. Thought I would post this...with the weather being what it is...Valdy taking Peter and Lou for a skate last summer on Saltspring....nice to see the Hometown Band back him up that's Shari Ulrich with violin...
  14. Never heard of these prairie chickens....I like this tune.
  15. Frank Ludwig didn't sing many with Trooper but this was always one of my favorites....
  16. Tsn is saying that Philly is in on Saunders...they want the left handed bat.
  17. In my opinion he doesn't say anything against the organization..he is unexciting and his comments are mundane and hardly ever interesting...when him and Abbott do the games I could fall asleep...I just find him very blah...now you may like him and that's fine...I just don't feel it.
  18. totally agree but by hiring that high powered agent he plans on playing hardball with the Jays...he could be to rich for thwm in the future...I hope not...best pitching prospect since Doc.
  19. yes..I read that and Sanchez unfollowed Stroman on Twitter..no joy in Mudville it seems.
  20. couldn't agree more..this guy is so over rated as an anaylist its hilarious..he was a lousy hockey player and worse on air.
  21. wouldnt be surprised to see Navarro back...I could live with that..tough to watch EE being introduced to Cleveland..it hurts....Jays sign Floyd...might help the pen if he can stay healthy.. The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran reliever Gavin Floyd to a minor-league contract Thursday with an invitation to big-league spring training. Floyd was 2-4 with a 4.06 earned-run average in 28 appearances for the Blue Jays last year. His season ended June 26 when he suffered a shoulder injury. The 33-year-old right-hander made his big-league debut in 2004 with the Philadelphia Phillies. Floyd has also played for the Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves and the Chicago White Sox. Over his career, Floyd has a 74-76 record and 4.37 ERA.
  22. Two elderly couples were enjoying friendly conversation when one of the men asked the other "Fred, how was the memory clinic you went to last month?" "Outstanding" Fred replied. "They taught us all the latest psychological techniques - visualization, association - it's made a big difference for me". "That's great! What was the name of that clinic?" Fred went blank. He thought and thought but couldn't remember. Then a smile broke across his face and he asked "What do you call that flower with the long stem and thorns?" "You mean a rose?" "Yes, that's it!" He turned to his wife. "Rose, what was the name of that clinic?"
  23. A young polar bear came into his den and asked his mother "Mum am I a real polar bear?" "Of course you are". His mother replied. The young polar bear asked his father. "Dad, am I a real polar bear?" "Yes, you are a real polar bear". A week passed and the young polar bear asked his parents "Are grandma and grandpa real polar bears?" "Yes" said his parents. Another week passed and the young polar bear asked his parents "Are all my relatives' real polar bears?" "Yes, they are all real polar bears". Said his parents. "Why do you ask?" replied his mother. "Because" said the young polar bear "I'm f%$%ing freezing!
