Oh you mean like the Flyers did with Richards and Carter... how's that working for them? They probably will be a cup contender again, eventually, but they missed the playoffs last year, and still have less points than our Canucks this season.
Any rebuild/re-tool or whatever you want to call it doesn't happen overnight. Canucks have prospects, and a lot of these terrible NTC's like Kesler, Hammer, Juice are up in 2 more seasons. That's nothing compared to the rebuilds Oilers and Flames fans have had to live through. If Kassian keeps progressing, if Horvat and Gaunce and Hunter can become solid NHL'ers, and whatever we can add through free agency.
If you can't stomach a couple years of a team that has potential but can be frustrating on a lot of nights, then let me pull the wagon over for you, and you can get off.
And me personally, will miss the s**t out of guys like Juice, Kesler, Burrows, Luongo, Hammer, and the Sedins when their time in Vancouver is over. They have been a great team, and a great bunch of guys and I'll support them till their last day as a Canuck. They've been awesome, and I don't see that they're done just yet.
