I didn't put much stock in the theory being toted around by a lot of players, media, and fans, that the game against LA was statement game. Just as I don't put much stock in to the idea that this game is proof how bad the Canucks are now, how overdue they are for total rebuild, etc.
Whatever their struggles are during this entire month, be it blowing leads, looking flat, lack of scoring, playing great one period only to come out looking lost the next, the Canucks should not still be looking for their indentity at this point in the season.
When they've been successful this year, for one they've had Luongo in net. Don't overlook what he brings. And the Canucks looked better as first to the puck, keep it simple in both ends of the rink, D first, and pressure pressure pressure team.
Whatever they've been trying to prove they've really gotten away from the X's and O's. Their play at the other team's blueline is costing them so many odd rushes against. Bad breakouts are keeping their star players penned in playing 2 minute D shifts against usually bigger opponents. And then Torts looks mystified as to why his team is having breakdowns late in games.
