  1. Just finished watching the Pens and Caps game. What a game! Canucks/Ducks better deliver.
  2. @sportsnetmurph: Booth will bounce around but start on 4th line. Bieksa will be net front on PP again. Dalpe with Sedins. #Canucks
  3. Canucks would be better off not trying to rile up Correy/Getzlaf and just play a simple road game and try to steal some points. Those guys always play better once you piss them off (let sleeping giants sleep). Despite the Ducks stellar record, their PP is only running at 16.4%, putting them just one spot above the Canucks and they're also mid-pack in terms of PK%. But they are 2nd in the league with a 1.48 in terms of 5-on-5 GF/GA. Keys again for the Canucks will be faceoffs; keeping the Ducks from starting with the puck, getting the first goal, and not letting the Ducks come through the neutral zone with speed and numbers. The last 40 minutes of the last tilt against the Ducks saw Vancouver turning pucks over at, or just inside, the Ducks zone and that made it way too easy for counter-attacks.
  4. So the Canucks play like the very idiotic goons everyone calls out teams like Boston and LA for, and suddenly we're proud of it? And at no point did LA ever look intimidated or overwhelmed by our antics last night. I didn't see LA back down once. Nolan turtled against Sestito is the same as any time Burrows should drop the gloves against bigger true fighters and doesn't. Who got kicked out of the game? So now we've shown LA we're not going to be pushed around, but we can sure be goaded in to taking a slew of penalties. I'm sure they've taken notice. That's the difference between LA and Vancouver. LA can play that game all night. You want to make it physical, their stars have no problem, they can dish it out as good as you can give it, but if the Sedins start getting pasted to the wall suddenly it becomes important for the Canucks to respond, because they don't want to play that type of game. Sure guys on the team can fight, we can run their goalie, we can send our goons around to send a message, but now we've stepped out of our element. There's no advantage to be gained for us playing that way. Are the Canucks trying to prove something to LA, or themselves?
  5. People now feel good about giving stacked Cali teams 12 minutes of PP time in the 1st period, losing games, and getting shutout simply because the Canucks fought a couple times and played without any discipline. It's sad how much damage those little love-tap punches Daniel Sedin ate in finals has done to everyone's psyche.
  6. If that was the Canucks statement game, is the statement: When we are pushed, we'll break. We'll freak out, and lose our composure. We'll play in to your strengths, because we'd rather take a cop out like saying we won a moral victory than actually fighting through adversity and coming up with a valuable win by sticking to the plan.? Found it more gutless than courageous. Haven't been this disappointed in the team in a long time.
  7. Once all the sideshow stuff ended late in the 2nd LA took over the actual hockey part of this hockey game.
  8. Another game where the Canucks entered the 3rd with point(s) that they don't have right now.
  9. Can the Canucks show Pushback where it matters? On the scoreboard.
  10. A hockey game almost broke out there the last 3 minutes
  11. You can say whatever you want about the emotion and the Canucks standing up for themselves... but what a crapty game.
  12. Canucks Twitter reporting Corrado has been reassigned to Utica.
  13. Just saying of all the potential matchups, we have the best chance against them. But we need those guys on our team to elevate their play and be the difference.
  14. Well balanced teams usually get knocked out by a team with a superstar who gets in the zone and takes over games. St. Louis is more like Nashville teams of the past or the Yotes than a Hawks or Kings team. No game-changers.
  15. What a bad penalty to take your first game back from being a scratch. How much is Booth paying him?
  16. But the Blues play a slower pace, and they don't have a true superstar. One thing the Canucks struggle against is containing the Perry's, Thornton's, Browns, and Kopitar's of the conference. The Blues are the only top team in the West you can say the Canucks have more star-power than.
  17. Tarasenko, shades of Super Mario in the '02 gold medal game.
  18. I agree. Finishing 7th/8th and getting Blues or Hawks is better suited to us than getting Sharks Ducks or Kings
  19. It's only been 20 minutes. I remember thinking how great we looked after 20 minutes against the Ducks, or after 55 minutes against the Pens. Lots can still happen. We're on the rope end of the rope-a-dope this time.
  20. I always want Dalpe to reference Sarah McLachlan songs in his interviews. "You know, Torts saw we were struggling out there, but he just calmed us down and told us not to wave a White Flag and Go down with this ship."
  21. Canucks escape. We saw the Ducks get owed at home for 20 minutes and then wake the fcuk up. I'll be able to hear Torts from my place on Thurlow!
  22. Bieksa gets out worked, and he just gives up on the play
