  1. Arturs Silovs backstops Latvia to victory in the 2020 Deutschland Cup
  2. Always hated the fireworks tbh. The best parts of Halloween are the horror movies and sales on candy the day after.
  3. OP isn't wrong. He's still a serviceable player that can play in the top 6 in a pinch, but he just doesn't seem to have the ability to think the game at a high enough level to contribute consistently enough to stick.
  4. I think you're underestimating just how good Edler still is. 33 points in 59 games, +13, averaged 22.37 TOI. blocked 162 shots and threw 108 hits. That's top 4 on pretty much any team in the league.
  5. The "equivalent"? I'm not in love with what's happened this overall offseason, but Schmidt has been a .5 PPG Dman over his last 3 seasons, including playoffs. How is that "equivalent" to Tanev?
  6. I'm not gonna claim I know much about him either, but with just a quick look at his stats I'm seeing a .5 PPG Dman with a fantastic +/- that logs over 20 minutes of ice time a night and plays both sides. How is that not impressive?
  7. He had 4 points in the 7 games he did play, and 3 of those came in one game. Let's not go nuts.
  8. So for those of you that know more about Schmidt, would you say he's our 2nd best Dman now?
  9. So Schmidt played on the right side in Vegas? I imagine the other teams interested wanted Vegas to retain salary, which is why we ended up scoring him for a bargain. How do we afford this though?
  10. Teams around us continue to get better. Not saying they won't regret that contract in the future, but in the short term........yeah
  11. Time for a vote refresh? Has someone's platform changed?
  12. He's done some good stuff in the draft, and he's made some good trades here and there (also made some bad ones), but this situation we're in now is absolutely unforgivable. I stupidly had faith that we'd be able to move some of these bad contracts out, and while COVID compounded the issue and made it worse, this was always going to happen. Not only are we still hampered with terrible contracts that are hindering our ability to improve the team, but we got absolutely nothing in return for the players we lost. Toffoli (who cost us a 2nd rd pick and Madden), Markstrom, Tanev AND Stetcher are gone for nothing. I understand that we wouldn't have been able to net assets for all of theses players, but none of them? Even if we weren't sold on Madden as a prospect (which most people here were until he was moved, at which point he apparently became "too small" to make it in the NHL), those assets still could have been attached to a bad contract and moved out, which would have given us some flexibility to actually improve the team. And the thing is, even with contracts coming off the books next season, that money is going to have to be given to Pettersson and Hughes, so we won't be any better off next season either. We're &^@#ed, plain and simple, and yes, it is Benning's fault. The sky is actually falling and he needs to be gotten rid of. I would of said "he needs to be gotten rid of before it's too late", but it is too late. The damage has been done. Now what we need is someone to come in and clean up this dumpster fire.
  13. Stetcher is a bottom pairing Dman, but he's a good one. Great signing my Detroit, and I have no clue why we didn't match. Hughes- Myers Edler- Benn Juolevi/Rathbone- Rafferty Our D is in shambles now. Benning better have an Ace card up his sleeve or we're not a playoff team.
  14. A free agent can sign for whatever. Just saying.
