  1. TO so desperate for help that they're plucking our guys behind our back.
  2. The closer we get to game time, the more nervous I get. This Vegas team are a bunch of creeps. If they make it through, I may just lose all faith in humanity.
  3. Whatever happens tonight, I'm proud of our boys. They were never supposed to get anywhere close to this far, and yet here they are. As fans, we couldn't ask for more.

  4. Welp, here we are. Game seven. It's been a wild ride and, through the highs and the lows, I'm proud of our boys for what they've accomplished here. If we win, awesome. But if we lose, it's been one hell of a run. We were never supposed to get this far. We were supposed to be a bubble team that MIGHT be able to sneak in one of the wildcard spots before being trounced by one of the top seeds. We were never supposed to beat the cup champs. We were never supposed to bring Vegas to a seventh game. Win or lose, our boys have proven to the league that they're for real. As fans, we couldn't ask for more of them. What's been really impressive is how they've been able to adapt. They've found different ways to win throughout this run, whether it was with run and gun hockey, opportunistic scoring, playing heavy or clogging up the center of the ice. They're learning how to adapt on the fly, and that's a fantastic sign. What's even more impressive is how good our core players have been. Pettersson, Hughes and the two goalies in particular. They've not only lived up to expectations, but thrived in this intense playoff environment. Again, a fantastic sign. So yeah, win or lose, our boys have made BC proud. That said, I'd really like to shut Vegas up once and for all.
  5. Should have played this one when we were supposed to. Might have been a different story.
  6. Had we played this game when we were supposed to, maybe we could have carried over some of that momentum from game two into this one. Oh well.
  7. So is this thread about hockey again, or do I have to go on another unintelligible rant about a collectivist world domination plot that nobody wants to hear?
  8. Why is Linden the cutoff point? If we're going to use that logic, shouldn't anyone that didn't see Kurtenback's tenure as captain be barred from voting?
  9. At this point I think I have to give it to Henrik, simply for the sheer number of accomplishments under his captaincy. Two Presidents trophies, a run to the Stanley cup final, an Art Ross trophy for his brother. Not to mention the countless hours of service he put into the community. That said, Linden was a bit before my time, so I can't really speak to his accomplishments. But as far as the captains I've had the honor of watching, it's Henrik with a bullet.
  10. This is great advice. Unfortunately, with social media being what it is (and social media "influencers" being who they are), news (and politics in particular) is increasingly being shoved into our entertainment. Christ, just look at what's happened to this thread. This was supposed to be a game day thread ffs. It's all by design, of course. The ignorant brainlets will try to shame those that don't want to engage or have differing views into conforming, just as their puppetmasters have intended, thus pushing them into extremism (or at least what the collectivists have conditioned the mainstream into viewing as "extremism"). That creates a more tangible enemy, which in turn galvanizes and radicalizes the opposition. Rinse and repeat until everyone has been radicalized into believing those with differing beliefs are monsters, at which point our "benevolent leaders" will step in, offering to "save us" from the people that used to be our friends and neighbors. Then the Overton Window, which at this point has shrunken to a sliver, becomes law. Our property is seized and divvied up in the name of "equity", and the populous has been conditioned into believing that it's all okay. And here's the kicker. The current issue is never addressed properly. By virtue signalling about some generalized idea of racism, the nitty-gritty of the issue is lost. There are very clear, very defined reasons as to why the cops in the US are able to get away with what they do. There are very clearly defined reasons as to why the black population is overrepresented when it comes to police shootings/police brutality. There are answers to these issues within reach...policy changes that would lead to real change....but the people screaming the loudest don't want to push for these real, tangible changes because they've either been conditioned into believing that virtue signalling is somehow making a positive impact, or worse, they want this to continue. They have a vested interest in ensuring that the issues are never solved. They want more deaths. Blood is currency in the culture war, The more blood you have on your side, the richer you are.
  11. - Abolish police unions - End qualified immunity - Stop throwing people in jail for victimless crimes (weed possession) - Stop encouraging single motherhood and fatherlessness via welfare state programs This $&!# is so easy, but nobody wants to take the necessary steps to actually solve the issue (Spoiler alert: They don't actually care). People have been so brainwashed into believing the "left vs right" dichotomy that they fail to see how these policies work in conjunction with each other to keep people and communities buried. But y'know, cancelling hockey should solve the issue.
  12. The conspiracy theorist in me believes it's all by design. Certain high profile folks with a ton of influence over our culture have been conditioned into becoming unaware agents of the new collectivist world order, with the purpose of disrupting the pillars of our civilization (including sports), causing distrust and contempt among our neighbors and friends, and breaking down the social fabric entirely, opening the door for complete a cultural and governmental takeover, resulting in an Orwellian dystopia where independence and freedom of thought become a thing of the past. But yeah, I'm hoping the NHL keeps going.
  13. His legacy as GM is going to be largely dependent on how he handles the upcoming cap crunch. If we manage to resign Toffoli, Tanev and Marky in the offseason, don't do something stupid like trade Boeser for scraps/cap relief, and manage to dump some of our bad contracts to get EP and QH signed, it'll go a long ways toward solidifying his legacy as GM. There's still a lot of work to be done, and some sacrifices (Demko, Virtanen, Gaudette?) will probably have to be made in order to keep this core together. Even if he manages to pull the rabbit out of the hat and keep our core together withing dumping a piece of it for cap relief, we still have a few more slots to fill in order to complete our rebuild. Specifically a youngish, minute munching, top 4 RD and a youngish, defensively minded bottom 6 center that can can fill the same sort of role Sutter is filling for us right now (ideally without the injuries). If he manages to pull off all of this in the next couple years, he may go down as a contender for the best GM this franchise has ever had.
  14. Nice to shut those bastards up.

    1. Twilight Sparkle

      Twilight Sparkle

rooster still low key trollin em LOL had vegas guys trying to go after him all game long. two guys tried to take him out at once and he weasels out and they crash in to the boards. love it xD

  15. You're gonna get killed for this, as am I, but you're right. Even without the gift of hindsight, it was a bad trade for us from the get-go. Madden was a pretty highly regarded prospect for us. Undersized yes, but still highly regarded, and there's no reason he couldn't have been moved over to the wing if we felt we were already set at center. And losing our 2nd round pick in a draft where we already didn't have a 1st makes it an even tougher pill to swallow. What's worse is that we're gonna be in a bit of cap trouble pretty soon, and now we have yet another player to sign, and if we don't sign him we end up losing Madden and the 2nd for nothing. And keep in mind that this was always going to be the case. Even if Madden wasn't a good fit with this organization, he could have been attached to one of our bad contracts to help get us out of our looming cap crunch, or he could have been swapped for a piece (like a blue chip D prospect) that wouldn't have been as redundant.
