  1. Any ideas on what to do if the power goes out during this snowstorm? I have sick and elderly people living with me, and since I work graveyard shifts, I'm gone most nights. Kinda worried.

Our house is old and isn't well insulated at all, and as I said before, I have sick people living there as well. Don't know why "Suck it up, it's not that cold" is the hill you'd want to die on.

i can only suggest like keeping every door to rooms not being used closed and line the bottom with towels to keep drafts out

I'm not saying suck it up, I was saying they is no imminent danger if a house can stay +14 in -30 it should (even if old) hold a safe temperature until power can be restored. the only risk you would have is if the sick people in your house depend on a machine that needs power to keep them safe.

  2. Gallant is the guy I wanted right from the get-go after Willie was fired. Nothing would make me happier then if we dropped Green and picked up Gallant.
  3. Nice to see that Woo is heating up again. I was a bit worried about him for a while there.
  4. A little late, but the inevitable Tanev injury has finally hit.
  5. Jeez, the passing from our top unit has been absolutely terrible.
  6. I've been 48MPHSlapshot since I've joined. I'm not attached to the name or anything, I just haven't been able to improve my slap shot in years.
  7. If you are truly leaving, I'd like to thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings as both a Canucks and Sabres fan on this board. You offered a unique and balanced perspective to an otherwise totally homerish place. Hockey is an emotional game and none of us are perfect. It's easy for our worst tendencies as biased fans to rear their ugly head sometimes, especially during the heat of competition. I can't even say with absolute certainty that I wouldn't have been one of the folks jumping on you as well had I been online when the $&!# hit the fan. Regardless, I do hope you reconsider leaving, and if you don't, it's been a pleasure.
  8. Thanks for elaborating. I don't think anyone has an issue with you questioning whether or not Lind is going to be an NHL player....I'm not sure myself. It's just that the previous post didn't offer any sort of elaboration, and I think that's what folks took issue with.
  9. I'm not thrilled about how Marky played in the last couple games either, but c'mon man....
  10. Awful news. Rush has to be the quintessential Canadian band of all time, and Neil was the backbone of it. A true craftsman. A virtuoso. One of the greatest of all time. RIP Neil. The music you gave us will last long after the rest of us have left this earth.
  11. Hey guys, I just got back from work! I haven't been able to keep up with the game, but I trust we're putting in a much better performance than we did against Tampa, right?
  12. With the way we've been lucking out as of late, an ass kicking like tonight was inevitable. It might end up being the best thing for them. Might get the boys playing the right way again.

Totally agree - makes me think they were starting to read something into the win streak that might not have been there - Marky is solely responsible for at least half those wins. Loses like this can either build character in a team or demoralize them - I for one hope its the 1st one

  13. The writing has been on the wall for a while now. With how poorly we've been playing, it was inevitable that a game like this happened. They needed a good ass kicking to put them back in their place.
  14. We've been getting lucky for a while now. While I'm loath to use this expression, Tampa is exposing us.
  15. He'd be a nice piece to pick up, but considering how crowded our forward lines are (and will be for the foreseeable future), I don't think the cost would be worth it. As far as our forward lines are concerned, I feel as though Benning should stand pat and try and move some of the less desirable contracts out. We're going to have Hoglander, Podkolzin, Lind and Madden all pushing for spots in the not-too-distant future. No sense clogging up the forward lines even more, unless we can move out a bad contract in exchange, which is highly doubtful. No way I move Demko or Madden for him, let alone those two plus a third asset. The focus now should be the blueline imho.
