  1. For as many issues as that team has right now, their right side is quite strong. Guarantee they wouldn't be half as happy about it if Seider happened to be a lefty. Perspective has a lot to do with it. Kudos to Yzerman for having the foresight to build a young roster with a glut of good, young RD though. He put them in a position to be able to sell high. Smart GM.
  2. Thank you for sharing this. I hope you and your father are able to celebrate a Stanley Cup together as well.
  3. Allvin vs Benning The stoppable force meets the movable object.
  4. Another year, another disappointing deadline day for the Canucks. We were stupid to expect any less, and yet we do this every year hoping that THIS YEAR will be the one that gets us back on track. We're as pathetic as franchise is.
  5. Maybe if we all close our eyes and look away at the same time one if the guys we want to see traded will get traded. Ready...and....GO!
  6. So are we competing or rebuilding? Doesn't seem like management can make up its mind.
  7. Welp, we just traded another one of our centers, so yeah...
  8. Strong start, terrible finish. This organization keeps finding new ways to disappoint me.
  9. This could also apply to the fanbase and Canucks management.
  10. I think manifesting those rumors into an actual thread is what killed our deadline. If we close the thread now, we'll end up trading Miller, Garland, Myers and Boeser for excellent returns within the next few hours. If we leave it open, nothing. Bank on it.
  11. Are you ready for the 2023 version of "wE rAn OuT oF tImE"?
  12. Man, this thread has been such a jinx. As soon as it was made things started going to hell.
  13. One can argue that the team underachieved this season, what with Demko being injured and Bruce losing whatever magic he had in the second half of last season. That logic only goes so far though. Even with a healthy Demko and better coaching this team was still nowhere near contention. Had everything gone as well as it theoretically could have this team would have been fighting for a wildcard spot, and that just isn't good enough. This group isn't going to magically turn from one of the worst teams in the league to one of the best by just adding Hronek (who at first glance doesn't even seem like a good fit for this team) and a healthy Demko, especially with the subtraction of Horvat. This reeks of ownership meddling. Anyone that knows anything about anything has to know that the only way this team will be able to make it's way back to contention is with a rebuild. I was a little more optimistic yesterday, but after thinking about it, yeah, it's frustrating. It seemed like we were on the right track 48 hours ago and then BOOM, same shit, different year.
  14. The fact that Miller was considered "week to week" and is now miraculously ready to play proves that they were keeping him out for trade reasons, but for whatever reason it never materialized. Pretty much sticks a fork in any possibility he's moved now. I figured he wouldn't be moved.
  15. It seems obvious at this point that ownership is never going to let the Canucks rebuild properly. Just accept it and hope for the best, it'll be better for your health
  16. Spoiler alert: They're trading their 1st for Erik Karlsson. Playoffs babay!
