  1. We're certainly controlling play more, but we're not getting a lot of great looks. The best chance was still the Boeser chance.
  2. Bear isn't signed after this year and Myers is likely being moved. Burroughs and Juulsen are depth players that wouldn't crack a contending team's starting lineup. If both Myers and Bear are gone think you can comfortably consider him 2nd on the depth chart. Hell, with Myers and Bear still around I think he'd still be in the mix for 2nd on the depth chart..
  3. Dhaliwal said Livingstone is unlikely. Has something changed since then?
  4. It's a very off year for him. He had 115 points last season and has was averaging well over a PPG the three years preceeding that.
  5. Well, that covers Miller's raise and about 1/5th of Kuzmenko's raise. Every bit helps.
  6. Tocchet is a member of CDC and gets his jollies from reading these butthurt threads and posts.
  7. I think Myers is gone in the offseason, and Juulsen and Burroughs, while decent depth options, aren't in the top 4 on a playoff team. We need a legitimate top 4 partner for Hughes.
  8. 2031, my dude, including a nearly 5 million dollar cap hit in both 2025/26 and 26/27, and then an over 2 million dollar cap hit every year until the end of the 2030/31 season. And again, once he's bought out that cap penalty isn't movable. Buying him out now would be the most shortsighted thing they could possibly do, especially after just one bad season.
  9. OK, so why are we apparently not in on either of the righties then?
  10. I'm thinking Myers and Garland are getting dumped. Boeser has been doing far better under Tocchet, who seems to think he can help him even further during the offseason. Garland would likely require less retention to move as well. I think we can move both while still holding onto Hogz, who I'd like to see with the big club next year. I know the common idea on CDC is to move wingers to allocate that cap elsewhere, but we can't move too many of our wingers either. Petey and Miller still need guys to play with.
  11. OEL isn't going anywhere, but Bear may not be resigned. The right side has been our Achilles heel for a long time, and good righties are typically harder to find than lefties. I really think that should be the priority. Not against signing Hirose, but I would personally be prioritizing the right side.
  12. An OEL buyout handcuffs us for years. Makes way more sense to try and ride out the contract and hope that he either returns to the form he had last season (remember, he was injured during the offseason which likely affected his conditioning heading into this season's camp), he agrees to a trade at some point if his ice time gets cut, or lives on IR for some of the remainder of his contract. Remember, once he's bought out, the cap penalty is completely immovable.
  13. Up until it was reported that we probably wouldn't be signing Livingstone, you had him penciled in as Hughes' partner next season
  14. I don't get it. Barbashev has terrible FO stats and is deployed offensively more than he is defensively. With Raty and now Sassy in the system looking like they both have 3C potential, let's not lock ourselves into an expensive contract when there are going to be some cheaper, short term options that fit the mold of what we're looking for in a 3C available.
  15. That's cool and all, but I'm so curious as to why we apparently have limited interest in Livingstone and Malinski. Seems to me that RHD should be topping the list of players we're interested in.
  16. I think part of the reason why Allvin was quick to pull the trigger on Hronek was that he wanted to give Tocchet a chance to see what he had in his blueliners before the season was up. We'll have a better indication of where what moves we need to make in the offseason now. Not to mention that completely overhauling the blueline may require some significant adjustment time to start the season, which could have potentially cost us a few wins while they try and become a more cohesive unit. The transition should be less jarring with Hronek already in the fold. We still need a couple pieces, but the overhaul should be a bit less jarring than it would have been had the team waited until the offseason.
