  1. Quinn ain't being traded and neither is Bryam. Let's focus on realistic proposals, shall we? LA has a nice stockpile of RHD prospects. If Miller is moved (which I don't think happens), they'd be a nice trade partner.
  2. I know he's well overage now, but dude had good production and an excellent plus/minus in his last 3 seasons in junior. Just looking at the numbers, I'm really surprised he hasn't been able to find a home. Not complaining though.
  3. I big part of that is that Schneider is on an entry level deal and the Rags are pretty much guaranteed to be able to hold onto him for years, considering how long it takes a player to finally be able to hit UFA status. A top 3 Dman could be available if isn't on an ELC and is closer to hitting unrestricted free agency. What the Rags being unwilling to part with Schneider does prove is that someone like Bryam is most definitely not on the table.
  4. Yup. That and young, impact players on entry level contracts are more valuable than they've ever been. There's a reason NYR wouldn't move Schneider.
  5. Poolman's Migraine issues are extremely worrying to me, and to be frank, even if they weren't an issue, he's overpaid for what he brings. Unless Dickinson suddenly learns how to take draws, which seems unlikely, I don't see where him and his salary fit, especially Karlsson likely pushing for spot this year or next while making entry level money. I was high on Rathbone at this point last season and coming out of training camp, but he's never going to have a chance at anything more than third pairing minutes here, unless God forbid Hughes or OEL take significant injuries. That's why I'd like to use him to shed the dead weight contracts and free up necessary cap space.
  6. I think we're looking at a much less sexy offseason than some folk are expecting. Miller resigned at 8x5 or 8x6 Boeser resigned at 6.5x4 Garland (+?) traded for Marino (+Kapanen?) Pearson and Myers moved for mid rd picks Lazar signed Lyubushkin signed Poolman and Dickie dumped Petey- Miller- Boeser Kuz- Horvat- Podz Hogz- Lazar- Karlsson (or Kapanen?) Lockwood- Lammiko- Highmore Hughes- Marino OEL- Lyubushkin Dermott- Schenn Demko Martin
  7. Despite being the worst team in the NHL, the Coyotes still have a pretty bare prospect pool, so I imagine they would welcome a LD prospect with big offensive upside like Rathbone into the fold, who is likely a redundant piece for us, as we have Hughes and OEL locked in for the foreseeable future. So since Arizona seems to be willing to take on bad contracts for futures, and we have a solid piece that likely doesn't have a future here, I have a simple proposal. To Arizona Rathbone Poolman and/or Dickinson To Vancouver Future considerations
  8. The Pens had Pearson pretty recently and things didn't go well, so I'd expect them to be the last team interested in him. Wouldn't mind landing Kap though. Maybe we flip one of the picks we land for Pearson or Myers to them, or even send them Myers with a bit of retention to replace Marino?
  9. I'm more and more thinking that's what we're looking at. Miller resigned at something like 8x5 or 8x6, Garland moved to Pitts for Marino, Myers moved for a mid rd pick, another RD like Lyubushkin picked up in free agency and Lazar picked up as center depth, while hopefully dumping Poolman and Dickinson somehow. I can also see Pearson moved for a mid rd pick to free up some cap. Thas basically how I predict this offseason going. Pettersson- Miller- Boeser Kuzmenko- Horvat- Podkolzin Hoglander- Lazar- Karlsson(?) Lockwood- Lammiko- Highmore Hughes- Marino OEL- Lyubushkin Dermott- Schenn Demko Not overly sexy, but unless a rabbit is pulled out of a hat, I think this is somewhat realistic.
  10. If you go by what folks on HF are saying, nobody is willing to cough up the assets it would take to land Miller.
  11. Looking at the top picks in 2018 with some hindsight, I'd say Hughes goes in the top 3 or 4....maybe higher.
  12. The only conceivable way Bedard could be a Canuck is if we somehow moved Miller in a package to NJ for their 2nd overall, then packaged the 2nd overall and our 15th overall in a move to Arizona for their 1st rd pick next year.
  13. Roy would be a great fit as our 3C, and Whitecloud woud be a solid (cost controlled) addition to our D. No interest in Karlsson, and with Vegas's cap troubles, I doubt they'd be interested in moving Whitecloud unless it's an overpayment.
  14. It also should be noted that once Bruce took over from Green and Hughes started receiving PK time that both Myers and OEL's PK time was significantly reduced, while the PK turned around in a pretty huge way. Also worth noting that, at even strength, Hughes has the best corsi on the team, and that his even strength corsi improved significantly despite being deployed in the D zone at a higher rate than he was in 2020/21. He didn't just improve slightly last season. To say as much discredits the obvious work he put in. He improved by leaps and bounds.
  15. Considering he went from one of the worst defensemen (from a defensive standpoint) in the entire league in the 20/21 season to being a staple of the PK, only having 8 goals scored against in 92 minutes of PK time (while being on for 4 shorthanded goals as well) and being one of the leaders in unblocked shot attempts in one season, maybe "cashing in now" isn't the best of ideas.
  16. I don't think Lazar is going to command what Dickinson is getting, but even so, Lazar is a right handed shot, has a much better faceoff percentage than Dickinson, threw a ton of hits last year (180ish I believe), and was deployed almost exclusively in the Dzone.
  17. I'm game. From what I've read he was a staple on the PK in Boston and acted as a bit if a Swiss army knife, and bottom 6 center depth is always good, especially with the disaster that is Dickinson still on the books. So yeah, if he's cheap, go for it.
  18. Why would we be interested? We have Schenn, Poolman and Burroughs all duking it out for that 3RD position. What we need are top 4 RD, not tweeners. We have enough of those.
  19. Nice. Our LW has been shallow for a long time, so it's really awesome to get a high skilled player that plays LW. Really interested to see how he meshes with Petey/Horvat/Miller(?). Likely means Pearson is as good as gone.
  20. Kuzmenko becomes the most hated player on CDC in 3....2....1....
