  1. Do you remember the 3rd baseman from last year? I don't. No disrespect to Lawrie, the dude played his heart out for every inning in a Blue Jay uniform, it's just sooooooo much fun watching Donaldson.
  2. Pump 8/10 Watched this on Netflix and it made some really intriguing points promoting Flex Fuels and revealing the untruths that the oil industry has spammed to the masses. Like any good opinion essay though, it should have addressed some of the drawbacks that ethanol/methanol do have.
  3. I have given up on trying to predict who is going to pitch. So many things can happen. Back in the early 2000s, when the Jays were terrible but Halladay was awesome, I successfully predicted in April when Halladay was going to pitch in Seattle in July. I even took into account off days where the Jays would probably jump him up a spot in the rotation and off days where they wouldn't. My friend and I were driving down to Seattle the day of the came chanting "Halladay Halladay Halladay" only to hear on a radio show that he had hurt himself in warm up and wouldn't pitch The last two Jays pitchers I have seen in Seattle were Hutch and Dickey...I enjoyed the Dickey start more. Then again, it was a "bad Hutch" game last year that I saw.
  4. Heh, I guess I should state that Fiers doesn't get me all excited either. Before, I was speaking in general terms. Well, there is Bautista and EE. But I guess, sadly, they can't pitch.
  5. I have often wondered if a team really needs to worry about having a mix of soft tossers to fire ballers in the rotation. I know it is usually nice to have a mix of righties/lefties so you don't get thumped in a series that hits one side way better. Maybe the same rules applies with speed, I don't know. To me, sometimes, an effective pitcher is just an effective pitcher. And I still believe to really upgrade the rotation, I mean really truly upgrade it, will take a COMPLETE gutting of the farm system. To get a Price and Cueto? Goodbye your top six prospects in the system at least. Edit: And then there is the bullpen to take care of. Rogers cheaping out at the beginning of the year really hurt there because the bullpen issue could have easily been solved with a modest amount of money.
  6. Can someone recommend me a good current events economy podcast?

Probably not the best place to be asking, seeing as most forum members are 12 and under.

  7. My 3.5 year old wants to go camping. I would like to test if he could make it the night. Sadly, I doubt there is room in the back yard to pitch a tent. Could easily pitch a tent in the living room, however. #First World Problems

Heh, once a kid hits 20 months they're almost 2. No more aging by months.

^^Or you could say he is in his 17th Trimester!

  8. Sadly, the WCE was already winding down by then, Bertuzzi just punchuated the demise of the team with an exclamation mark.
  9. Dear iTunes, your latest update sucks. All I want to do is easily make a playlist of podcasts and order them based on release date and you messed it up.

I think the new update is pretty dank.

Sounds like new Windows versions. They piss with the GUI and all I want to do is cry. Keep it simple, not flashy..

  10. Ho hum, another game, another blow out win. I hope AA revamps the bullpen soon because it would be nice to see what this team could do with a better bullpen before doing the much more expensive rotation upgrade. I think one high end arm and one mid tier arm would suffice.
  11. If the Jays do nab a wild card, I think Archer would be the last pitcher I'd want to face. The guy pitches the Jays well.
  12. I happened to see Sanchez in Van back in 2011... A lot of strikeouts and walks.
  13. Played until I was 18. Played 1B and pitcher for the most part (yes, I'm a lefty). Was a pretty good singles/doubles hitter that was best suited for the 5 spot (got on base all the time but wasn't fast enough for 1 or 2). My last year AAA finally came to Chilliwack, lost my spot at 1B but had a lot of fun pitching. Didn't throw hard but could control a 2 seamer with late movement and a 4 seamer along with a change-up and a curveball. Was able to throw at two different arm slots too, giving me lots of different looks that made up for the lack of speed. Heh, picked off a lot of runners as well, being a lefty had its advantages.
  14. Looks like you're getting half your wish in Cecil being removed from the closer role. Osuna isn't available tonight so Delabar will be the closer at least for tonight. It was definitely time to make that move. Personally, with Osuna being so young and successful as the set-up man, I'd be tempted to leave him there and keep Delabar as the closer...for now. In order to make the playoffs though, AA is going to have to upgrade the bullpen. In order to do damage in the playoffs, AA will have to upgrade the rotation. I'm not to hold my breath for that one because that will be pretty tough/expenseive to do.
  15. WTF?! Obama did a WTF interview?! I'm 19 hrs behind in my podcasts, but this one may have to jump the line.

  16. Lost in all this controversy is Estrada, he's starting to put out very good starts consistently.
  17. I saw an even better idea posted on the Sportsnet site...make Buck Showalter bat. Not sure why the ump warned both teams (okay, I kinda know why), but it's the Orioles that are the instigators and yet it's the Blue Jays that lose 2 coaches and a pitcher tonight.
  18. If this game against Baltimore taught me anything, it's that the only pitches Adam Jones sees tomorrow are ones that hit his backside. Do it all game, then maybe, just maybe the Orioles will cut that garbage out with Bautista.
  19. 4 wins in a row for the first time this season. First time pitching/offense/defense have all been clicking at the same time. Hopefully they can keep it up.
  20. After the start to his season, good to see Sanchez finding a groove.

Why do people say these things to Genie? Because she's pretty. Because she's had a taste of fame. They're jealous. To a lesser extent people will unknowingly mirror the disappointment in their own lives when they post about her disappointments on the court on twitter.
  22. Is it just me, or is Gregg Zaun trying to be the Don Cherry of Baseball?
