Pitts would do well well to trade him before those injuries affect his value.

^It's a small pool. 12 people only at 6 forwards per team. On top of that we're allowed only 1 trade a calendar month so you can't do too much tinkering.

  5. There is no reason the Jays still can't pursue Melky or Aoki, this trade, as stated above, hasn't tied up much more money.
  6. I'll repeat the sentiment that it's sad to see Lawrie go but I think we'll soon forget about him once we realize what the Jays have in Donaldson. Lawrie was a blood and guts player that wanted to win very badly, but I don't think he was the heart and soul of the clubhouse. That label belongs to Baustista still. In Lind and Lawrie, AA has traded away two players that they weren't able to count on everyday for production. Both always seemed to get injured and Lind just can't hit lefties anymore. These guys always created roster headaches because you always had to have a replacement nearby. The Jays now have a lot more flexibility on their bench, it seemed last year they always had 3 guys around that could play only 1st and 3rd in Valencia, Johnson, and Francisco. It's not just fair to project Lawrie's 70 games and compare, you should compare what Donaldson will do (in a more hitter friendly park) to Lawrie/Valencia/Francisco.
  7. Wow, Giordano and the Flames are lighting it up against the East....I think I now know how Sidney Crosby does it.

  8. Whatever happened to a plain, old, easy to load boxscore. I just want to see who got me points in my hockey pool. I don't need live streaming, who's on the ice, momentum trackers and a zillion other stats.

  9. That one actually may not be too bad. Did you hear about the time that Brian and his brother were (briefly) wanted for murder?

Not to mention that, with an aging Serena Wiiliams, the women's draw always seems t be a crapshoot.
  11. I would argue that trading two of Stroman, Sanchez, and Norris (plus some other pieces, I bet) to get Price would not have put the Jays over the top as two of those players are making important contributions right now.
  12. Whenever I think they're slipping too far the Jays go on a run...so waiting for that run. As for improvements I really wonder if shifting Lawrie back to 2nd full time would be best. Would he provide that glove at 2nd that he does at third. I know some people knock his baseball smarts, so perhaps not the best idea. If needing to save money you could then have a Fransisco/Valencia platoon and spend money elsewhere. The rotation is a tough one. There pitching has been okay, meaning the cost to improve is going to be astronomical. Improvements from within in Stroman, Sanchez, and Norris are coming but may be too soon to expect consistent high quality innings.
  13. 1-3-0 Starting pitching could have been better but you're not winning many series' when you score 1-3-0 runs.
  14. Was unlucky to witness that game last night. Was wondering which Hutch we'd get, Good Hutch or Bad Hutch. Ended up getting both. Was not happy with Colby "I'm gonna make the 1st out at third" Rasmus or Austin "I'm going to take an offensive indifference base when my team is up by a pile of runs" Jackson. Glad someone on the M's go plunked, although with Mills on the mound I highly doubt it was intentional. The only thing worse than that game was trying to connect up with I-5 North after it. All that being said. Today's a new game. Go Jays!
  15. Can't say I saw Hutchinson's start coming. Although it sounds like he's owned the Orioles this year. Go figure.
  16. That's only if they skip a spot in the rotation, which my hunch says they won't.
  17. Bleach, that means I'll be watching Hutch. Probably would've been my last choice. Maybe we'll get good Hutch. Years ago, when Halladay was in his prime, all my friend and I wanted to do was see him pitch. I remember predicting in April when he'd be pitching in July. This included an off day where the Blue Jays would skip the spot in rotation, then another off day when they wouldn't. All that work and Halladay injured himself during game day warmup... We saw Jason Kershner instead
  18. Too bad the Jays couldn't upgrade their staff. I'm guessing the cost of an upgrade would have been too steep as most conversations probably started and ended with Stroman and Sanchez. And really, that would have accomplished nothing as you would've been filling one whole while creating another. Another trades probably wouldn't have been much of an upgrade, so what's the point? Taking my dad to the game in Seattle on the 11th. Pretty stoked, meaningful baseball in August, for once.
  19. I have no issues with him being the long reliever. Actually hasn't done a horrible job in that spot imo. I can be a difficult spot to fill sometimes.
  20. Non waiver deadline is today. So moves could still be made after.

Sometimes used bookstores, who carry books, music & DVDs will give you some in-store credit for inventory that you provide to them. I dont know if that's helpful in your case.

  22. I'd also argue, at least in Stroman's case, that they're the present. Not many pitchers (that could be gotten in a trade) have put up his numbers since he has become a starter. As for Morrow, I've given up on him becoming a reliable starter. He just can't stay healthy. That's not to say he can't contribute over a short period of time, but I just don't see him getting through an entire season.
  23. Heh, no doubt. Stroman, for the moment, is pitching better than most arms available. I always said keep him i. The rotation until he starts to falter or batters begin to figure him out. Appears that hasn't happened yet. I'm pleasantly surprised.

I was hoping Federer could pull it off, but Djokovic just had more in that 5th set. Congrats to Novak for the hard fought and well deserved title.
