  1. I believe Groshans could've been a rule 5 pick up next year so his value was limited. This will help the bull pen now (and potentially moving forward with Pop) so, all in all, a decent trade.
  2. Looking more closely at it, the Hassell is the Padres top prospect (20 in the MLB pipleine I think), Wood is in the 80s while Abrams and Gore are former high first rd picks. So some pedigree there. Now let's see if Hosmer bungles things up
  3. I don't know the Padres system at all, but they have made so many trades lately it can't be exactly teeming with potential all-stars. Kind of makes me wonder what exactly the Nationals got
  4. Bo shouldn't be untouchable, but trading him should be an offseason move. I like the roles that Espinal and Biggio play now, but a middle infield of Espinal and Biggio isn't close to playoff caliber. The more I see the Yankees the load up, the more I think the Jays shouldn't go after rentals. Maybe get a flamethrower for the bullpen but other than that, let improvement from within determine their fortunes.

  6. I betchya I know how the Red Sox feel after this series with the Jays.... Couldn't resist...it has been a while
  7. Blue Jays in 30 editor is going to have his work cut out for him.
  8. I have a Canuck binder, I have been trying to get 1 card (in a Canuck jersey) for every Canuck that played. I sort it for games played. Here is the binder Michael DiPietro is on: Tell me his career will amount to much more than what's on this page .
  9. The NHL is starting to get an NBA vibe where players are dictating where they will or won't play. I get it, they have that power/right, and if I was lucky enough to be in that position I'd want that power too. But still, it sucks for these franchises and I feel bad for the Jets and their fans.
  10. Because Tkachuk is easier to trade? Who would you rather give a 7 year, big money deal to?
  11. Wow, Royals are going to have 10 players on the restricted list. If the Blue Jays had that many unvaccinated players they'd hardly have a team this year.
  12. I just saw a Basant Motors commercial that featured 2 players, Miller and Garland.  If that's not the kiss of death for their days in the organization, I don't know what is.

The EA Sports covers of the Vancouver Canucks?

  13. Aw, at 42 and not having the strapped on the pads in a couple of years I thought I had a shot
  14. Bigger than the Mikheyev signing apparently as the Sportsnet panel has talked about this more so far.
  15. Yikes, this will be my boys first Jay game tomorrow and they couldn't be any colder
  16. At a hotel in Seattle right now, going to the game tomorrow. I was hoping to watch the game on tv but the hotel package doesn't seem to have it. The 3 ESPN channels it does have are airing: UFC Summer League Basketball Professional Cornhole ... .... ... Ben Brown is killing it right now in Professional Cornhole
  17. I believe #8 Greg Adams was called Gus.
  18. Someone always lets the Lightning off, it's absurd. Brisebois either has pictures of other gm's in compromising positions or is a hypnotist.
  19. Love a league where the Yankees can intimidate umps all year and the Jays get whacked with a sledge hammer every time they make a peep. Or how the Rays Paredes hits 3 hr's in a game and gets plunked on his next at bat by a Yankee pitcher....nothing. Jays have been booted for WAY less than that. God damn, I HATE the Yankees. Edit: Most.Entitled.Team in MLB
  20. I was listening to a podcast (probably about 6 weeks ago) and they made a very good point; Central Banks around the world have been printing money for the better part of 2 decades but, for the most part, that money went to regular banks, hedge funds, etc and they spend money on stocks, realestate, luxury items etc and we saw price increases in those areas. When the pandemic hit, the money being printed started going to the average joe, and the average joe buys gas and groceries.
  21. Only happens if McDavid and Draisaitl are injured for a significant portion of the season at the same time.
