(Rumour) Canucks targetting Copp, Mikheyev, and Lazar
Wilbur replied to theo5789's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Vanek and Vrbata, although not franchise altering, delivered on their contracts at least. But yeah, it's definitely not a long list. -

Ryu out for the year. https://www.mlb.com/news/hyun-jin-ryu-to-have-season-ending-surgery Do the Jays make a trade? I guess Stripling has made it so there isn't necessarily a rush to make one. The best starter in Buffalo, up to this point, looks to be Casey Lawrence, so I don't think that's a long term replacement. I think they kinda have to make a trade here. -

Goes to show you how few games the Jays have played against sub 500 teams . Nearly half the number as the Astros -

You can't win the division this early on in the season, but you can lose it. The way the Yankees and Rays are playing, the Jays are not winning the division. This meat grinder of a schedule just plain killed the Jays -

I know it's early for a season defining game, but how the Jays come out tomorrow will tell a lot about the team. God damn, I hate the Yankees and their sense of entitlement. The way they bitch and moan every borderline pitch and then get their way and run up pitch counts is infuriating. The Jays don't get away with it, they get tossed. -

yeah, I was a little surprised by the Rangers too. Must be killing Semien right now. Ah well, that's the risk when you chase the biggest contract. Granted the consolation prize of dump trucks upon dump trucks of money is one most would take. -

I was looking at the standings, and man, the AL Central is a dogs breakfast. -

Sounds like Cole was very complimentary of Vladdy. High praise from a great pitcher. -

I think of Tapia as similar to Ben Revere from a few years ago. Not as good numbers, but similar skill set to give the Jay's line up a different look some nights. -
Yes, my Canucks binder at least. I thought about using points, but then all the goalies would be at the back. I settled on games played, heh, about the only metric you could use that would put Harold Snepsts on the same page as Henrik Sedin. And really, belong on the "same page" when you're talking about important Canucks in Canucks lore. Decided to use playoff + regular season games because the theme of the binder is I'll have when I'm done (only need 5 now), 1 card for every Canuck that played a meaningful game in a Canuck jersey their card as a Canuck.

Motte exits the Canucks 155th in all-time Canuck scoring. Not bad when some people would have rather a 7th round pick over him. Kinda interesting comparables just above and below him. 154. Jarkko Ruutu RW 267 23 28 51 155. Tyler Motte C 196 28 22 50 156. Marc Crawford LW 176 19 31 50 Through playoff and regular season, Motte wore the Canuck jersey 213 times. Pictured below are some other players in that range.

Reshuffling something in the outfield to get another left handed bat in the lineup might be nice as well. -

They could, but they also like to rotate the spot around Bichette and the outfielders too. -

Honestly, I'd rather see what the Jays have in Espinal than Villar pt 2. -

Seeing many more maskless people in stores now (Chilliwack). Guess the protests worked and all mandates have been removed now?

Yeah, although Boldirev played in a higher scoring era. Also had the benefit of playing his years here when he was older, more established as a player.
