8-0 after 3 innings... How many converted touchdowns are the Yankees going to score this series on Shapiro's by design AAA pitching? 4 games, so 6? -

Heh, yeah I'm not holding my breath. It's funny that this is the second time the Jays have traded pitching to the Astros for a AAAA outfielder they had no room for. Liriano for Hernandez made sense as, why not, it was Liriano. Getting anything for him was a win. A few years later the Jays give the Astros way more pitching for another AAAA outfielder. I'm predicting 2 years from now the Jays will trade Nate Pearson for yet another 4/5th outfielder. -

I think the record for a hitting streak to start a MLB career is 17. Bichette is now at 9...over half way there! -
Best concert I ever went to was Einstürzende Neubauten at the Commodore in 2004. The best story from that started in the line-up. I was standing around with my friends looking up and down the line and seeing the usual assortment of Goths, Hipsters, and Rivetheads that an experimental industrial band from Germany like Neubauten would bring out. However, 2/3rds of the way down the line was a little old lady in a bright pink knitted sweater. Now, there was a play going on next door too so we figured the lines were kinda converging and thought nothing of it. Fast forward 1/2 an hour and we're filing in and, sure enough, there is that same sweet old lady sitting at a table off to the side. One of our group pulled up a chair and talked to her for a few minutes. Apparently, she had seen the band with her grandchildren during Expo '86 time and was blown away. She vowed to come seem next time they were back in Vancouver. I hope I'm that cool in my 80s

Not opposed to giving him another 1/2 season chance, but if he doesn't get one I won't be upset as he's had plenty of chances.

Never say never, but I would hope being they are on the better side of .500 by seasons end. I think the offense will be decent but not sure if D will be good enough. Guerro Jr, Bichette, and Biggio still have a ways to go to develop their D (and I'll give them time, at their age they still have time to develop it). This all has the big assumption that the pitching will be addressed which I have no faith in...their rotation right now is the Canucks D equivalent of 5 Ben Huttons...sure it looks good some nights but over 82 games.... -

Everytime the Blue Jays can't pitch their way out of a wet paper bag the next season and a half, I will be thinking of that GIF. Once again, I would be okay with it if the returns were okay, but ^ -

He sure has been mashing. Seemed like last week he was batting in the 230s. Above 270 now and not striking out nearly as much. Impressive -

Rumor is the Jays are very interested in Matt Boyd from the Tigers. Expected cost the Tigers are looking for is top 50 prospect like Groshans and an outfielder such as Hernandez. Granted these are just rumors and the Tigers asking price (not necessarily what they'll get). But if the Jays trade for someone that is the same age as Stroman but worse and give up a top 50 prospect like Groshans to get him, all I gotta say is... I think I may have to save this GIF, it'll come in handy on days like these when the rumours are as bad as the AAA pitching. -

On the same day the player the Jays got in return had to leave the game because he missed a fly ball and it hit him in the face. If that doesn't sum up how most Jays fans feel about this trade I don't know what does.... -

I agree with Stroman on his comment about management getting rid of everyone from before them. It is almost pathological on how they have gotten rid of everyone despite the return. Stroman and Sanchez are young enough that they'd still be productive (most likely...Sanchez has struggled) when Guerrero, Guriel, Bichette, etc mature. -

Vladdy is feeling it right now. Granted it's not too hard to feel it against what KC and Baltimore have to offer. -

Wow, I would be less upset at the Blue Jays if they released Sanchez and Biagini at the end of the season for nothing than make this trade. Yes, they could improve the outfield but this guy is not ahead of Drury, McKinney, Hernandez, Alford, Pompey, and my Aunt Bessie. So what's the point? -

Jays trade Phelps for a guy trending the wrong way at AA. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-trade-reliever-david-phelps-cubs-pitching-prospect/ I know they probably weren't going to get much for Phelps in the first place so here's hoping the Jays have noticed something they can fix. -
Yes, they were with the band. The checkpoint was to check for alcohol because it is a dry reserve so it's not as if they would be checking the license and registration of every person passing through. I believe they passed through this checkpoint before they were wanted for murder so their pictures weren't plastered all over Canada yet, probably just BC.
